Nice, close to ferry

Posted 23-Jul-2014
Pros: location
We were able to walk with our luggage to the hotel. Very clean. Helpful staff. Pool maintenance while we were there, but they finished it in time for an evening swim.

Thanks for staying with us and recognizing our proximity to the ferry! Housekeeping will appreciate your recognition of their cleaning efforts and we actually had an internal wager for the completion of the Pool maintenance ... happy you were able to enjoy the pool/hot tub before your departure. sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Nice hotel, down town

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: Close to downtown
Cons: Nice to have air condition, as the room was hot. I didn't like to pay $15 dollars a night to park nest door to the hotel. And no free breakfast.
Location: Downtown
Walking distance to down town, hotel is older,no air condition in room. Had to carry bags up stairs to get to elevator no ramp.

thank you and sorry if you were uncomfortable during this hot spell. There is a wheelchair elevator that can be used for really heavy bags or if mobility is really an issue, but otherwise there is direct access to elevators from the Parkade P1 level , especially helpful when driving. all the best, Kay Koot, general manager

Great hotel in an excellent location.

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: The location, size of room and the maid service. The rooms were cleaned very well and bottles of water were left for us each day- a really nice touch!
Cons: Airport Shuttle would be nice, but not necessary. The bar fridge was a bit small. Something slightly larger would be nice.
Location: Walking distance to everything- fisherman's warf, parliament, downtown, restaurants and shops. There were many things to do.
We picked the Harbour Towers because we wanted a suite with 2 rooms. Our room was on the 10th floor and was very large. There was a king master suite with bathroom (small, but functional) and a double room with a balcony to sit on. There is also an additional bathroom in the main area (although only the one shower). The living/dining area was really large with access to the balcony from the living room. Beautiful views on the 10th floor. At first we were worried at the lack of air conditioning but the many windows and coastal cross breeze was fantastic. The hotel is older, but the size of the room is great. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic with many choices. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and pleasant!!

LOCATION

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Location: Spaghetti Factory for a nice atmosphere and inexpensive dining. Take the wee boats for a harbor cruise. Museum is awesome but make sure you it all.
The location, willingness of staff to assist in whatever crisis a guest may encounter and the view of the habour makes this a must stay for anyone who wants to experience Victoria. Being able to walk to all of the features of the city and enjoy a good meal within the premises is a bonus. Gerry

Thank you so much for the 5 stars and your comments. the efforts of my staff are certainly a differentiator, we think. Also, thanks for mentioning the harbour view ... as the name of our hotel certainly highlights that as well. Vic's Steakhouse & Lounge and the rest of the team looks forward to saying Welcome Back", next time you take a trip over to the island! sincerely Kay Koot, general manager

Perfect location - walking distance to all attractions like many many many hotels in the area, Surrounded by restaurants within. I do not recommend the Vic's steakhouse for steak, however the breakfast and all staff were fantastic. Gryssly steak for a place called a steakhouse. Terrible laundry facilities in house. Nobody needs ice machines anymore with refrigerators in each room. Ice machines area needs to be converted to more laundry. strict 9 AM to 9 PM machine time - only two for the whole building, plan on a laundromat if you can find one or another hotels laundry machines or hand washing if an extended stay.

Thanks for your 5 stars, even though apparently all elements were not to your satisfaction. We do limit the Laundry hours just to maintain our Quiet Time for guests staying on the 8th and 5th floors where the Laundry rooms are located. Interesting how the perspective about ice machines does vary, as I've received comments from other guests suggesting there should be an ice machine on every floor! Chef Setso will not be pleased at your review of the steak and I hope you mentioned it to your Server for follow up. please try Vic's and the Harbour Towers again next time, Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

good accomodations in Downtown Victoria

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff were wonderful.
Location: It was a good location for us to take in some sights and get to all of our golfing destinations.
The only thing that disappointed us was that there was no airconditioning in our suite. it was very hot and could not leave our bedroom window open as there were not screens on it and with a roof top right outside where the pigeons walked we were worried that they would enter the room. We left all the other windows open however and they did not have screens on them. No problem with bugs or birds entering the living room area.

Thanks for your review and my apologies for any discomfort you experienced due to this record-breaking hot spell in BC. Victoria's temperate climate is usually such that the ceiling fans and ability to open the balcony window/door usually provides sufficient air circulation, plus that fact that it cools down substantially at night. You are right ... there are no problems with bugs or birds ... which is why there are no screens. hoping you'll return, perhaps in the fall or winter? Sincerely, Kay Koot, general manager

Good Location, Nice Place to Stay

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: Two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, spacious living room.
Cons: Although Victoria probably is normally cool, we were there when it was hot. Air conditioning would have been nice.
Location: Very good location, within walking distance of all downtown Victoria has to offer.
Arriving in the early evening and departing early in the morning didn't give us much time to enjoy an excellent suite.
