Pros: View and location
Location: Convenient to everything
The room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable with a view of the harbor. Very convenient to downtown and the provincial museum. The weather was also perfect during our stay.

staff was so friendly with awesome sense of humour. So fun...thank you Mathew (on the front desk) ! We were in for one night....room was clean and staff friendly. hotel was close to all amenities. The only downfall.....coffee machines are very old one cup coffee makers. No longer hot but maybe warm coffee...and coffee tea style bags make for lukewarm dishwater coffee. NEEDS UPGRADE and Cheap condiments. We did not eat in hotel. Enjoyed our stay.Thank you

Not sure if I will recommend it or not.

Pros: Continental breakfast included. Great view of inner harbour, nice restaurant with a friendly owner.
Cons: Have drapes that fully cover the window. Don't allow whiny, barking, howling dogs in rooms with an adjoining doors that lets in all the noise.
We went knowing that this was not a 4 or 5 star hotel and we were fine with that. We never complain at hotels, ever...except this time. We were ok that the bathroom was tiny, the linens were awful and felt scratchy and hard. We were ok that there was an adjoining door that let in guest noise from the other rooms. We were also ok that there was only a portable fan and no actual air con (the room was quite hot and stuffy). We can live with those things. What we weren't ok with was having to unhook and re-hang the drapes in the bedroom so that they actually covered the window and didn't let the light in. We also weren't ok with being kept awake and then awoken the next morning by a dog in the room next door. Clearly it had been left alone and was crying, whining, yelping and howling as loud as it could. All of the noise came through the supposedly insulated adjoining door between the rooms. We complained the first night and nothing was done and then we awoken in the morning by it again. It was our holiday so we had planned on sleeping in past 8 am. The front desk was mildly apologetic and moved the people and dog for the next night. I'm not convinced that I would go back or recommend this hotel to others. I think that perhaps they might have wanted to do something to make up for our inconvenience. I believe that you go to a hotel (when on holidays) to relax and not to re-hang the drapes or be woken up by someone's dog that sounds like it is in the room with you.

Pros: The location is perfect, can't get much better for that price.
Cons: The telephone - staff knew that the message system was not working but nothing was being done to fix it. Wake-up calls were 30 minutes late.
Location: Right on the harbour, about five minutes walk to downtown, the Royal BC Museum, boat tours, loads of restaurants.
Great location, very comfortable, homey atmosphere, dog-friendly. Complimentary continental breakfast was convenient. Would definitely stay there again, despite problems with their telephone message and wake-up service.

Pros: everything was likeable. The staff was accomodating on all accounts. The harbor is right across the street so walking is a breeze to see the views .
Cons: bathroom a bit small but it was clean and orderly
Location: walking is so easy everywhere- very walkable city. There are taxis, horse drawn carriages, rickshaws. lots of people walk or ride bikes safely.
We got to the room very early and they accomodated us with a room within an hour. The restaurant in the hotel is very good and fast. The view from the windows is the harbor and the U.S. ferry- all very cool. The harbor is right across the street from the hotel. There is a liquor store in the parking lot. The room attendants were very kind and accomodating. The staff gave us their opinions on where else to eat, what to see, how to get there- all very appreciated. There is a pool which opens in April and a jaccuzi- there are bathrobes in the rooms for use, and towels will be provided. The customer directory in the room was very detailed and very useful. Our whole stay was wonderful. Bathroom is quite small but whatever. The whole city is full of food vendors, both outside seating and indoor seating. Everyone seems to be walking a dog. The bicyclists rode in safety in marked bike lanes. Traffic was slower and really nice to drive in.
