Quiet, clean - staff friendly and price is right.

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Quiet, clean reasonable price.
Cons: Maybe get rid of the dated rugs in the hallways.
Location: Very central - you can walk to places downtown.
We stay at this hotel whenever we are in Victoria - always clean, friendly staff and reasonable price - also pet friendly and close to everything downtown.

Great value and excellent hotel

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Pros: Beds were extremely comfortable and water very hot! This hotel was extremely quiet as well!
Cons: A free breakfast with more than just oatmeal and fruit would have made this stay a perfect one.
Location: Royal BC Museum is walking distance as well as the Parliment Buildings, Empress Hotel and Inner Harbour boardwalk
We spent 3 nights here in December. Just across the street from the ferry and Clipper. Free parking if you bring your car and walking distance to the Inner Harbour activities.

Poor cleanliness

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: the location to the downtown, parliament buildings and the ocean
Cons: Better service by the cleaning staff.
Location: Visit the park, parliament buildings, ocean, IMAX theatre, Royal BC Museum, historic sites
The bathroom in our room was not cleaned for the full 5 days we were there. I deliberately left urine in the toilet before we left the room to see if it was cleaned....I had suspected it wasnt being done. When we returned it wasnt. I told the night clerk who advised we should tell the manager in the morning which we did but he didnt offer us any compensation for the poor service. The room was also very cold, we had a space heater brought in to keep us warm.

Excellent facilities at affordable price.

Posted 15-Nov-2014
Pros: Location - nice view of the harbour. Clean, nice staff.
Cons: Better blankets on the beds in the colder weather, or better heating supply.
Location: Victoria has so many wonderful things to see and do, so I can't number them all here.
We were treated very well and everything was clean. Our room was a little cold and we were unable to turn the heat up. In a two-bed room, there were only three blankets (rather than four, two for each bed) in the dresser drawers and the sheets and covers on the beds were not warm enough for the coolness of the room. We should have called the desk and asked for more blankets, but it was very late when we got in and we were exhausted by our travel. In the morning we advised the staff of the problem and they said they would have brought heaters and more blankets to us, so it was really our fault, except that we hoped that once we got into the beds we would feel warmer and we were so very tired.

Convenient comfort

Posted 09-Nov-2014
Pros: Convenience, cleanliness, friendly staff
Location: Right across the street from the ferry, a block or two away from the Royal B.C. Museum, Miniature World, The Empress Hotel and the Parliament building
We really enjoyed our stay at Days Inn at Victoria harbor. It was so convenient to the downtown area. The young man at the registration desk was very friendly - really set us at ease. The room was lovely with a great view of the harbor and the bed was comfortable. There was an iron and ironing board, pedestal fan, a mini safe, a hair dryer, and even an umbrella! Everything worked well and was clean. I would highly recommend.

Hotel overlooking the harbour

Posted 29-Oct-2014
Pros: Lots of pillows, kindness of the front desk, lovely clean towels, close to harbour
Cons: A ramp on Belleville side, vacuuming room, more handicapped parking, cheaper rates in restaurant.
Location: Government buildings, imax & museum, tea at Empress, the view of the harbour!
Very pleasant hotel employees who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Lent us an umbrella to use as it rained every day & gave us extra pillows. Our room could have used an extra chair in it, & a vacuuming during our weeks stay. The hotel could use more than one handicapped parking space as we invariably found it taken (husband uses 2 canes) The hotel gave us coupons to use in the restaurant which did not cover a full breakfast. Breakfast was expensive for the amount given & no side plates for toast etc, Overall we had a pleasant stay & were treated so well by the front desk...lovely people!!

Fantastic location, nice staff, very tiny shower

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: Great location, quiet room, nice view of the harbour from the restaurant, personable staff, reasonably priced. Parking, wifi and breakfast included.
Cons: Shower size and bathroom size overall.
Location: On the harbour almost next door to the Legislative Buildings, Royal BC Museum, The Empress etc. Main shopping streets only a couple of blocks away.
I rated this hotel as excellent overall for its location. The room was quiet, restaurant and front desk staff personable, and the bed was comfortable. My only complaint was the shower, which was too small to use unless you were desperate (and I weigh 123 pounds, so I'm not exactly on the upper end of the spectrum). I would definitely stay here again, but ask for a room with a bigger shower.
