“Comfortable....”
We have stayed there several times as our daughter lives nearby... and doesn't have space. Always friendly and helpful staff. Great views of the harbor and all the activity. They are now installing scaffolding around the building and I was told the hotel would be closed in a couple of weeks for four months as they perform a major exterior renovation, along with some interior improvements.
“Decent hotel in Victoria”
If you want to stay within walking distance of downtown, the Coast Harbourside is perfectly well suited. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade though (bathtub very small). Nice pool (indoor/outdoor) and hot tub area. Had breakfast at the restaurant once which was so-so. Good value for money though.
“Great stay for a one-night visit”
This was a decent hotel at a great price and wasn't far off from the main areas of shops, restaurants, etc. with decent views depending on the room. I did have access getting the wireless network to work and they said it was due to the materials the building was made out of so I had to stretch the wired cable as far as it would let me. Other than that I had a fairly pleasant stay and no real issues.
“peaceful and relaxing”
We really enjoyed the fitness room, the spacius hot tub and the indoor/outdoor swimming pool. The view of the harbour from the restaurant is very enjoyable.
“Perfect location in Victoria”
Great location, within walking distance of everything you want to stay at near the harbor. Clean and very nice personnel. The excercise and pool facilities were outstanding. Hotel is starting to show a little age this is about the only negative. Good WiFi connection but $11.00 a night for parking is a little steep. Solid 4 rating and I think the 3.5 star rating is right on.
“will be back”
Excellant location close to everything but no downtown noise. Incredible views always something different to look at and watch. Hotel restaurant good value and location.
“Beautiful view and great location.”
We really loved the location of this hotel. It is a short 10 min. picturesque walk to the harbor. It is right on the water and the view is spectacular. There are balconies although they are small. The amenities were very nice, plush robes, refrig, coffee, tea and even hot chocolate. Our room was on the fourth floor which is one up from the lobby. We were on the corner left and there were some noise issues late at night. Seemed like they were moving furniture in restaurant below. Not terrible but noticeable. I would ask for a higher floor. Do your homework about attractions and their ratings. The concierges all seem to have a partnership with companies as each one recommended different companies. One walked into the whale watching company place with us and make sure they had his name. Everyone nodded knowingly. We went on Springtide and were very pleased with them. Not too crowded on the boat . Kat was our guide and she was very attentive and informative. I would recommend the BigRedBus. It is hop on, hop off tour. You can take the whole tour and get an idea of everything and then hop off somewhere you like and catch another bus back or to the next spot.
“the perfect Victoria hotel”
Had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect. The value is exceptional. Try to get a room looking out over the water. (I was in room 1010 and it was perfect)The view of the harbour, ships coming and going, and the sea planes is the perfect start and end to a vacation day. The lounge and dining room have the best views in the city. The service, from the front desk to the lounge server, were professional and polite. Trust me. I have travelled the world. I enjoyed the history and the service of the Empress, but I would return to the Coast on my next visit.
“Victoria for Royals tryout”
Beautiful hotel right on the harbor and close to downtown. Lots of sites to see within walking distance.
“pretty good”
hotel was pretty good. front desk was very helpful, there's a cold beer and wine store within walking distance, beautiful view of the harbour, and good ammenities. beds were comfy, and the restaurant in the hotel "blue crab" has really good food and a nice breakfast.
