We were only at the hotel one evening but it was exactly what we needed. The room was clean, modern, air conditioned and comfortable. Bathroom was nice sized and functional. Location was in walking distance where we were coming from. Friendly and helpful young man at front desk.

Small boutique hotel on quiet side street. Small lobby and not many amenities but rooms while not very large are very comfortable. Everything in room including A/C worked well. Very quiet and dark in morning. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, even stored our luggage when we went away for 2 days to Venice. Great location less then 5 mins from SMN station and less then 10 minutes to Duomo. Breakfast not huge variety but fresh and more excellent croissants. Would stay again if returned to Florence.

Hotel was easy to find. It was just a few easy blocks from the train station. Friendly staff. We have one of the quad rooms. It was spacious enough for 4 adults except for the luggage. The beddings sheets were clean but the spreads looked old. The rest room was OK but there seemed to be a damp stench all the time. The ventilation fan was just not strong enough. The air conditioner was weak and very loud. If we don't leave it on, the room felt hot and moist. The room might benefit more with a ceiling fan.
Location of this hotel is great. It's very close to Stazione di SMN. It is on Via Faenza which leads into Piazza di San Lorenzo. From there, you can walk easily to the Duomo, Academia. Actually, you do not need to take any transportation at all. Florence is compact enough to walk everywhere. We walk as far as the Pitti Palace. That being said, the hotel is probably in the worst block of Via Faenza because the sidewalk shrinks to one person width and slants at an uncomfortable angle in that block which also receives a lot of traffic from a side street. It is not easy dragging your baggage in that one block. Check-in is on 2nd floor with no elevator.
Breakfast was very basic but adequate. Croissants, breakfast rolls, slices of ham and cheese, oatmeal, juice, coffee.

"Very friendly and helpful staff. A very cute Hotel"
We stayed at Hotel Marios for 7 nights. The highlight of our stay was the warm friendly and helpful staff. Even tho there are steps up to the front door your bags where carried up and down for you. A friendly welcome on your arrival home every day, even remembering your room number. Plenty of hot water and air conditioning good Wi-Fi connection. The staff had lots of helpful info for us for our stay on upcoming weather, closures, ticketing and much more. The Hotel was close walking distance to the Markets and main sites. Great Restaurant's on the same street. A very cute Hotel and all in all a very enjoyable stay.

Staff at hotel were very welcoming and helpful. My only complaint would be that the room was at the back of the hotel, but overall hotel was in a great location close to all. Nice outdoor space on the third floor to relax and unwind after a day of touring this beautiful city.
Ten minutes from the Duomo on a narrow street that bends ever so slightly and reveals new surprises every few feet, the Hotel Vasari is the perfect spot from which to explore Florence. The building dates from the late 1500s and in the late nineteenth century served as the French Embassy. The public rooms on the street level still reflect the ambiance of that golden era as does a large sitting room on the first floor. The old tile for in the breakfast room is very nearly a work of art in itself. Guess rooms, a bit small as is always the case in older European hotels, are a bit small, but are tastefully done. Doors to the guest rooms are decorated with figures from classic paintings--a nice touch.
While you're in the neighborhood, don't miss the chance fir a meal at the Trattoria Nerone on the street that connects the Hotel Vasari with the duomo (on your right as you walk toward the cathedral).
"Nice family run hotel, very close to train station"
Close to everything, very central. Only problem was you had to climb three floors of stairs to get to it. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good. We would stay again, but not for anyone with mobility problems.
