“Not impressed”

Hotel was ok for the money as most of the hotels were full for the magic city classic 2011. Wallpaper was falling off the wall. Comforters were ripped. It was better than nothing.

“Disappointed - Don't Stay Here If You Don't Have To !!!”

After reading other reviews, I was hesitant to stay at this hotel. Because I booked at the last minute for the Talladega Race, nearly all hotels in the area had no reservations available. I was very disappointed because: Air conditioner/heating unit was very loud! Maid service did not clean my room on the 1st night of my stay. And so I did not return for the 2nd night that I had already paid for. I reserved a "smoking" room, but there was no ashtray in the room; so I had to go back down to the lobby to get one. :( There were tons of old mattresses and furniture sitting about outside around the hotel property! Like, wth! Get rid of it!

“Disapointed”

We was very disapointed in the cleanliness of the property, Also not very well stocked in the breakfast area, especially on race weekend. you would think that they would be prepared for such an event. The rooms were not cleaned, only clean towels and not clean bedding. the vanity was wiped but not sanitized! We saw the previous guest hair in the shower and vanity area the sink was compleatly clogged and we had to use the shower to brush teeth and wash hands because the sink was full of filthy water. The staff has a very lackluster attitude towards guest. I suppose do to the race and they were full and gave you the feeling of we dont care if your here or not we are already full and if dont want it sombody else will. I guess you get what you pay for in the world, the room was cheap and so was every thing that had to do with the place. We go to Talladega 2 times a year and I can say we will never stay there again!

“Fine hotel during the Barber Festival 2011”

We've stayed at this hotel before and it's exactly what you should expect for the price though the rooms are a bit larger, the breakfast is hot, and our room came with a micro & fridge. Shower works fine though the shower curtain kept sticking to me. The room key had to be re-set on the 2nd day. Good location near plenty of food and a grocery store. All in all, I'm happy with what I paid and received, again for the 2nd year, a good value. If you think for the econo price you should be in a 4 star hotel, you're in the wrong place.

“Better than nothing, but not by much”

Stayed here after severe tornado damage devastated areas to the north and south of Birmingham. All hotels in the area were busy and full to the max. Service at the hotel was indifferent, but that was understandable in the situation. The room, however, was another matter. An inexpensive hotel gives me low expectations, but this was ridiculous. The room was relatively clean, but our "non-smoking" room smelled so heavily of cigarettes and animals that we went and bought Febreeze at the local store so we could sleep. the bathroom needed a serious overhaul -- it was grimy, and I didn't really feel clean after showering. We slept on top of the blankets; I didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the bed..... Overall, the hotel was better than nothing; we had a place to stay with air conditioning and a hot shower, which was more than our damaged home. But I certainly wouldn't choose it under other circumstances.

We were looking for a hotel between the Galleria and the Summit and this was perfect.

“Rooms will lock you out”

We were locked out of our room 3 times and had to go to the desk each time to have our card reset. It was a pain to do that especially when you have arm fulls of stuff and a 3 year old. The last thing you want is to be locked out and have to leave everything by the door to go get your key fixed..
