“Good Hotel in Verona”
This hotel is very centrally located, being only a couple of minutes from Piazza Bra. It is nothing to speak of from the outside and is next door to a fast food outlet. The surroundings are very busy. Inside it is elegant, clean and well run. The room was clean and comfortable and had a security safe. Breakfast was included and was of excellent quality and quantity. It is an advantage to be able to speak to reception staff in Italian as they have limited English.
“Unbeatable location”
This hotel is just steps from the Arena in the Piazza Bra (many restaurants, and bus stop for city tour bus) so the location is superb. You can walk to the Piazza Erbe (lots of shops) within minutes. It is also a close cab ride from the train station (less than 10 Euros). This is not a luxury or modern hotel. It is a typical 3 star hotel in Europe (decent, but no frills)--relatively clean, hard bed, adequately sized bathroom. I requested a quiet room so I had one facing inside--no view, which was fine since I was only there to sleep. Breakfast was decent. The best part of it was that you could make you own coffee and try all the different kinds. Also, the hotel had some good recommendations on pizzaerias (a must-try). I would stay here again on my next trip to Verona!
“Ideal location for sight seeing”
Hotel situated outside the city wall and an ideal location for exploring Verona. 15 mins walk from the bus/train station. The staff were efficient and helpful. Don't be put off by its location next door to McDonalds. Breakfast is standard continental fare with the addition of home made Italian cakes, which were very nice. Room was clean and linen changed daily. Check out is at 11.00 am but if you have a late flight there is a large, secure left luggage area complete with toilet and shower.
“Basic and Convenient Hotel”
We stayed 1 night in Verona while touring by train through Italy. The Hotel Mastino proved to be a convenient location and within walking distance from the train station. The hotel is an older building with a small lobby and small but functional elevator. The hotel is located on a busy street, however, our rooms were quiet. The rooms are small by american standards, but adequate. The breakfast buffet included a wide choice of breads, pastries, yogurt, cereal, eggs and sausage - much better than I expected!
“Chris L”
Very convenient to Verona sites, within walking distance to everything. Parking was in a public underground lot which is close by and is modern and clean. Temporary parking spot outside hotel for loading and unloading luggage. Breakfast was best so far in Europe, real eggs and bacon! Rooms were clean, modern and air-conditioned. Only complaint was that the staff did not explain the key system. The same electronic key used to open the door is also used to turn on the electricity. You must put the key card into a slot an leave it in to get the lights and outlets to work. Recommend getting and extra key if you want to charge you electronic devices while you are out of the room since you must have the card key to get back into the room.
“Good value ad location”
Good value stay with excellent location in centre of Verona and easy street parking nearby. Room was a bit tired, but nothing to complain about at the "lower than normal" rate per night. Strange "jacuzzi type" shower apparatus in bathroom. What was it for? Room otherwise warm and comfortable. Breakfast above average with fresh fruit, cheese and ham.
“Buyer beware!”
The room we were given looked nothing like the rooms shown on their website! And it had the smallest shower we have ever seen ... even our slim 20-year-old daughter had a difficult time squeezing into it! I'm not sure how it received a 5.0 rating unless the reviews were written by the owners/employees of the hotel ... look elsewhere as there are lots of hotels in Verona!
“Great location not so great room”
This Hotel is situated 2 minutes away from Piazza Bra which is a perfect departure point to visit all the important sights in the city! However the room was small and not very nice. Having said that i would still recommend the hotel due to its excellent location.
“"Perfect place to stay in Verona"”
What a wonderful hotel. The location was perfect and the staff were very helpful. They recommended a fantastic restaurant with superior food and service. This pick was so important because it was my brother, myself, my mom and dad. We were visiting the area my father was born and lived until he was sixteen. It was the first time my brother and I visited Italy and it was my best trip ever. Oh and the breakfast was tasty too!
“Perfect Location”
We drove into Verona around 8pm and we were definitely ready for dinner. After checking in (our bags were taken to our room for us while one of the employees showed me where their extremely cheap parking unit was) we walked about two minutes up the street and ate at one of the outdoor restaurants surrounding the arena. Everything in Verona is nearby and having the hotel so close by was very handy when we needed to run in to grab something mid-day. The bed WAS a little stiff for my taste (but I'm sure it'd be fine for anyone else) and on day one our door had to be pulled really hard to actually shut it but I informed the staff on my way out the door and it was fixed when I got back. The breakfast in the mornings was fantastic. Meats, cheeses, filled croissants, etc. Really wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
