“Veracruz , a fun place to visit”

We had great time at the hotel and the staff was friendly and we loved the great seafood, music, and walks along the "malecon" at night. Veracruz was awsome!!

Area recommendations
Stay in the areas where most of the visitors go, which is the seawalk, (malecon), and the central plaza where you can hear great local music,(harp and xylophone) watch people dance, and eat great seafood. They also serve some great "lechero" coffee, and sell some nice cigars and other local curios in these two areas.
When to go
Summer is a great time to see all that is tropical and exotic about Veracruz.
Family-friendly activities
People walk up and down the "malecon" near the sea all hours of the day and night. It's a great place to people watch and hang out with family.

“NIICE VIEW FROM THE ROO-FTOP”

The hotel is in a great location. I felt safe, and i was able to realax. It is extremly close to the beach, just cross the street, and there it is. The pool is really small, but still good enough. The room i was in was BIG! If your on a budget then i would stay at this hotel. Its not fancy, but its decent, and nice location. It meet my needs (=

Area recommendations
This area is real close to the Historic Veracruz area, including the Malecon. Its all close by, but while your in the city you MUST visit *Boca del rio* its a city that is next to veracruz. its more modern. It is divided by a street light so its more like 1 GIANT CITY. the clubs and bars in Boca De Rio are wild, and fun!
Nightlife
boca del rio has many clubs, bars, and its wild and fun (=

“I will never go back to this hotel.”

Completely disppointed with the hotel. The room was reasonable clean, but it was humid and there was a fetid stench in the room coming out of the sink. Terrible.

“No or's if's or but's about it, we would one hundred percent go back to this hotel.”

This hotel was in the perfect spot, in the middle of everything and away from what could be a busy and loud places. It was a quiet place, what we were not expecting, therefore I would recommend this hotel to anyone how likes a quiet and relaxed place, a small part of home from your home.

Area recommendations
There are so many places that are in waliking distance in which you can take part in. Veracruz Aquario is one place that you must visit, and it is inexpensive as well. There are some shops and museums in this building. Aquario Tours is the place to go if you want to explore the many beautiful places in Veracruz . El Tajin Tour is one you must take, this place speaks for itself, if you love arquiological places, this is the one, it is a must! The malecon is a tour on its own, taking a stroll at any time and enjoying the wonderful view of the port and its surroundings is breath taking. There is also a trolly ride of the city which is also educational and very reasonable in price. Also, some boat rides are available which give you a tour of the port and history of the port's itself. If you are a coffee drinker, I recommend El Cafe De La Parroquia, supper delicious!! El Zocalo, Los Portales, La plaza all these places are full of live music, dance performers, shops, street vendors, food and drinks, a must place to spend some hours and enjoy life in Veracruz.. The beach is at your disposal, these are warm waters, Bocal del Rio is a hot spot for local and forign travelers. But if you want just beach and relaxation, and no city life, Costa Esmeralda must be your destination, wow! Veracruz is a place that everyone should discover and will fall in love with it like I did.

“Do Not Stay Here Under Any Circumstances!!!”

First of all, this hotel is directly across the street from the Merchant Marine academy, which means every morning someone is out at 5 am blowing reveille, and the entire drum and bugle corps practices at least twice a day. I had paid extra ahead of time for a larger room with an ocean view, but the staff attempted to take advantage of my lack of Spanish to give me a smaller room without an ocean view for the same price. Housekeeping was completely unresponsive to our requests, telling us they would be back with whatever we had requested, then leaving us waiting. We were rationed only one washcloth per day for the three of us. They would not exchange money for us, claiming the restaurant is not a "hotel service". The bathroom door wouldn't close, we couldn't make local calls without the hotel staff having to dial the number for us (and charging us to do so), and the only way to turn the patio light on and off was to jiggle the wires. The only enjoyable part of our stay was the restaurant, but you can go there without staying at the hotel.

“Super old hotel, very bad conditions”

The hotel is really old and has been part of other chains, eventhough it is close to the beachfront and is in a centric area, close the aquarium it has not been maintained properly. We didn't even dare to take a shower without our slippers. Not very clean and even smells old

Traveller's tip
Veracruz aquarium is one of the finest in Latin America, you shoud try it
