“Lovely hotel in a beautiful area”
Clean, comfortable, elegant, beautifully situated, good value for money (except restaurant). Would return for a future visit.
“Best location in Venice”
Fantastic location, quiet room, good breakfast. Small room but most rooms are small in Venice.
“Great Location, Hot Room”
We stayed at Villa Igea for 2 nights before we went on a cruise. The location was great, very very close to vaporetto stop/alilaguna stop from airport. It's also in the middle of the busy part of Venice, right near St. Mark's, while at the same time on a nice quiet street. However, for BOTH nights we stayed the air conditioning was not working - in JULY! The first night it went up to 28 degress celcius in the room (according to the thermostat). We complained the next day and were told it was being fixed. When we got back to our room later that day it had gone down to 24 degrees C. We called to see was this as cold as it was going to get and we were told that yes, the air conditioning was working now and that was it. However, it must've stopped working shortly after because that night it went up to 30 degrees C. in our room...it was a very small room as well so it was like sleeping in an oven!! Very uncomfortable as you can imagine. also, it seems their sister hotel has totally taken over at this stage, there is no one at reception in the Villa Igea and you have to go to the sister hotel to eat breakfast (which was nice good by the way). If you're thinking of staying here I would say don't, stay at their sister hotel instead (Savoia & Rolanda or something like that - it seemed a lot nicer) - and cooler!!
“Hidden gem”
Quiet location opposite Chiesa San Zaccharia but central for all the major sites. Our room was a bit tired but clean and comfortable. Our one problem (failure of the air conditioning) was dealt with promptly by the hotel staff, who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast at the nearby Hotel Savioa e Jolanda was good and it was lovely to sit out on the hotel terrace each morning overlooking the Grand Canal and watch the world go by. We would recommend this hotel for a good value stay in Venice.
“Can't wait to go back”
This was a nice hotel. We stayed at the extension to the hotel around the corner from the main hotel. The room quite small but very nice and clean. The location of this hotel is optimal; near everything and a short walk to St. Mark's Square. The waiter's in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel (where the complimentary breakfast is served) were not very customer friendly; bordering on rude. I was a bit taken aback by the service but the staff in the hotel itself were very nice. I will stay at this hotel again but aside from the breakfast, will not eat in the restaurant again. Grazie.
“Made my 50th birthday stress free and memorable!”
A lovely, intimate hotel in a quiet location but within 5 minutes of San Marco. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, a good choice of breakfast. 1 minute from the Zaccaria water bus stop coming from the airport. All in all, highly recommended and will be the hotel of choice on our next visit.
“just what was needed”
Brilliantly situated, just a couple of minutes' walk from St Mark's Square, Villa Igea was an ideal hotel for us (two women). Comfortable, warm and all that was needed - it even had an effective hair dryer! The room was small (and the shower room/toilet tiny!), but absolutely perfect. A buffet style breakfast was provided at the sister hotel, approx 50m away, and was very good. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Can't praise it enough, really - good price, great location, good facilities. If you stay there, be sure to check out the San Zaccaria Church across the square - worth a visit.
“Location Location Location”
Venice is such a beautiful city and the hotel really is perfectly situated on a quiet square only 100 metres from San Zaccharia water bus stop. Breakfast was good but the room was very small and rather shabby and there was no hot water in the mornings. The staff were courteous but not interested in the hot water problem which was rather disappointing. Overall our experience was variable but, on balance, the location being so exellent means we would recommend others to stay here. We feel Expedia should encourage the Hotel to take on board the problems we encountered.
“Very pleasant hotel”
The hotel was conveniently situated in a quiet square, opposite a charming church. It was very close to St Mark's Square (about 5 minutes walk) and the vaporetto stops. So, it was easy to move about the city, visit islands or travel back and forth from the airport. In the immediate vicinity, there were plenty of good restaurants which didn't overcharge and were, in fact, good value for money. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was very good and the waitresses were only too pleased to see to your every (breakfasting) needs. I would not hesitate to return to the hotel and would recommend it to everyone.
“Nice Hotel, but small rooms”
The location was great, convenient to St Mark's Square and not a long walk, with our luggage, from where the water taxi from the airport dropped us off. The rooms are small, especially with all the luggage we had for a two week cruise, but clean. We had a window but our view was of a brick wall. We were only in the room to sleep so it wasn't a problem.

San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
