“Good hotel in perfect location”
We were travelling with two young children (aged almost 1 and almost 3) and the hotel was very well suited for our needs. The suites had a seperate lounge / sleeping area and the hotel provided two beautifully made up cots. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good, though they only had 1 high chair. We found the rooms quiet even though we were so perfectly located close to St Mark's Square and the bell tower! There was a lift in the hotel but our room was on the mezzanine floor so we still had some stairs to climb with a pram. Venice is not a very child friendly city, very few restaurants had high chairs and we couldn't find a single baby changing facility anywhere. In the 3 times we've been to Venice we've only found one children's play park and it was very small and poor. There are also of course millions of bridges to negotiate with a pram. Nevertheless, the children (and therefore the adults), had a great time, weather was great, food was lovely (albeit expensive), and we enjoyed the beautiful city. Our visit was made all the better by the lovely hotel and its perfect location and we would stay there again for sure.
“Excellent location, great room, but.....”
If travelling with a young family, the room is excellent. A mini-suite with two rooms, each with a double bed, and a good size bathroom. You couldn't get much closer to St Marks Square if you tried, however, being so close to the square meant that the bells chiming loudly at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the morning, stopped being quaint and became annoying. If you're a light sleeper, then be prepared to be awake every hour on the hour. The breakfast was very basic and a bit of a disappointment. Overall, a great room, great location, but a few minor niggles.
“Great location & service but one drawback”
Had a great stay in Venice during the carnival. The hotel was really good and the staff very friendly. The family Suite was a fantastic size and well furnished. The only downside was that the heating and hot water for the room broke down on the first night. The staff tried to fix it but could not and the hotel was full so we couldn't move rooms that night. To placate us for no showers/freezing temperatures, we were offered a new room the next day and some discount/refund to compensate us. The new room was duly delivered but the discount/refund was not. Aside from this the hotel and staff were great.
“Fantastic Location”
The hotels location was better than we could have hoped for,a hop and a skip and you were in St Marks Square. The accomodation for a family of 5 was very spacious and we had a beautiful balcony with furniture overlooking the rooftops and a canal, perfect for a bottle of chianti after a hectic day.One downfall, the breakfast was a disaster.Food was average to poor,it was like a free for all,a room that could accomodate approx 50 uncomfortably, had 230 fighting to sit or grab some food. One person was serving, not enough of anything including china and cutlery for anyone. The tables weren't cleaned to give room to anyone new trying to get in.Basically a shambles, but the location made up for it.Gondola ride is a must, they are expensive but walk around they were offering discounts we spent 80 for five.Beware sitting down in St Marks for 2 coffees we worked it out with all the add ons(5 of us sitting down, listening to the music and taxes 72 ouch.) The complimentary boat trip to the glass factory was great fun the kids loved it.Beware the prices were extortionate and it was a bit more hard sell than we thought it would be. Thoroughly enjoyable trip, although prices ridicoulous with the bad euro.

Area:
San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
