“Super hotel and great location!!”
We loved the charm and service at the Palazzo Sant'Angelo Sul Canal Grande!! The water taxi stop is just steps away from the front door and one of the few hotels that has a dock. Wonderful breakfast as well!
“Great for Vaporetto”
Hotel staff were very good - breakfast was OK although had the restaurant been full there would have been no way you could get up from your table and move to the buffet. Coffee was dreadful - and buffet very average - however there were some good cafes that compensated nearby, We were in the old part of the hotel and although the room was clean it was small with limited facilities to sit and relax. Bathroom was clean however the shower leaked all over the floor - good service in the evening to turn the bed down and replace wet towels. Excellent location right outside was the Vaporetto stop and a water taxi stop. Having travelled to many different areas and hotels we would only have rated this as a good three star hotel. Well within easy walking reach of all the main sites and restaurants. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but can make good recommendations. Also provides a free trip to the glass factory in Murano - interesting and well worth a visit.
“Love this hotel”
We had a wonderful stay in Venice, partly because of this beautiful hotel. We had a free upgrade to a canal room and it is the best hotel room that I have ever stayed at. I often stay in hotels, but I always balance cost and quality. I wish I can always stay in rooms like this, but they are expensive. I am therefore very grateful for the upgrade. Keep in mind that you have better chances of getting an upgrade during low season. We got excellent restaurant recommendations from the staff. Because of this, we ate best in Venice amongst the Italian cities we visited. Thank you to all the staff with special mention to Manuela, who was so helpful and warm.
“A hotel that could just not do any more - superb”
This hotel is fantastic, it may not look like your typical 4-5 star hotel when you walk in, but the rooms are fabulous - venetian boutique, very spacious, excellent bathroom and most importantly - very clean - they are cleaned more than once daily if required and the maid also posts a weather forecast for the next day through the door!! The staff are superb & most helpful, they will do anything for you - from booking restaurants to organising expeditions. The hotel is on the grand canal and is conveniently located right next to the waterbus stop - sant angelo, which makes access to the airport and st marks sq etc v.easy. Breakfast was ok, they try their best - but its not going to be same as your home country, thought the continental stuff was lovely Would definately recommend this hotel to anybody visiting venice
“Venice - walk and enjoy”
Hotel was in excellent position on Grand Canal with a view of the Rialto Bridge. Suite was very comfortable, nice firm bed in one room and squishy settee in the other. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar was cosy and welcome after being out all day, or just before going out for evening. Plenty of local restaurants to suit all tastes for dinner. We visited Murano and bought some lights which was the purpose of the trip. The rest of the time we just walked. We had a map but only used it to confirm where we were and what direction we wanted to head off in next. We stopped for coffee or a drink when we felt like it and were welcomed where-ever that happened to be. Cafe Florian was fab for afternoon tea, and the Terrace at the Danielli was the same for Sunday lunch, but then you don't need me to tell you that, these are world famous places! We visited the Doge palace which was spectacular but have to confess we didn't do all the rooms, we did walk over the Bridge of Sighs which gave an interesting view of lots of people unwittingly taking photos of our waving hands!
“Fantastic hotel- great holiday”
An excellent hotel right on the Grand Canal. Boat stop right ouside the hotel. Very easy to get to from airport-get vaparetto (orange line) from airport straight to hotel. Perfect location- easy walking distance to all the main attractions. Would recommend to everyone. Fantastic hotel, great hoilday.
“Venice's Great Hotel”
The room was very clean. The staff was very helpful. Everyone understood English. Location was ideal .. right on the canal. It did take us a while to navigate through Venice, even with a map. The hotel staff helped us to find places in Venice.
“Great Stay”
Lovely hotel, first class. We loved the location and would recommend it to other travelors. It was a close walk to St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. It has it's own pier so you can arrange water taxi pick up and drop off right to the hotel which I would highly recommend. Do not expect good room service food, but rather go into the town for something worth eating. Becca Ficca is a very good restaurant & extremely close. Some of the best restaurants are closest to St. Mark's. The staff is pleasant and we had a great stay. It is more boutique style than large hotel. The shower doors are standared European with the half door, the only downside really. The beds are very nice.
“Great Canal Front Hotel!!”
Everything was perfect from the location, the attentive staff, the bottle of Proseco in our room. Our room was relatively big for Venice and the bed very comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel.
“Venice with my 17 year old son”
I took my 17 year old son for several day trip to Venice (wife couldn't go :( ). We stayed 2 nights at the sant Angelo. Very nice small hotel. Room was not ready until 3 which wa a pain since we just flew in that morning. Room was very nice. Tvs are old and the wifi is expensive and a pain. The best part of the hotel is the location rit on the grand canal and 20 feet away from a valparetto stop. Overall the Hilton Stucky was much nicer and far less expensive

San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
