“Hidden Gem”
We stayed at this hotel from October 13-17, 2011 and loved it! It is just far enough from everything to be convenient and just far enough from everything to be quiet (though there is a bar on the corner that can be noisy at times....). Staff were fantastic, rooms were spotless (and I am picky about that!) and breakfast was your typical European fare: croissants, rolls, jams, yogurts, boiled eggs, a couple cereals and hot coffee, more than enough for our needs. We were on the top floor (3rd in Europe, 4th @ home), but there is an elevator (tiny, but it works) for when you are taking luggage up and down. Other than that, we used the stairs. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station, just down the canal from Guglie Bridge, but off the "beaten track" a bit. There are some very nice restaurants on this canal, so do try it! You will like it.
“Good accommodations at a reasonable price in an expensive market”
Hard to find hotel especially at night but it was reasonably close to train station. Staff was friendly and helpful.
“Romantic, Charming, Authentic”
Husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in room #1 a Junior Suite on the 1st floor which had a private balcony terrace right on the canal. The room was nicely furnished, bed was extremely comfortable to me but my Husband did not care for its firmness. Staff were friendly and helpful. The terrace was the highlight of the room, not many places have a room with a terrace right on a canal and definitely not at this price. We loved sitting on the terrace at night watching the water and sunset. Great neighborhood, not too touristy and less crowded than areas closer to Rialto or St Marks. The hotel only has 2 rooms with the balcony terrace so book early because they are definitely a hot ticket. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. fresh croissants, jams, a small plate of meats, cereal, juice and coffee. Close to 2 vaporetto stops and about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus stations but out of the hustle and bustle of the tourist shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Venic
“Good small hotel”
We were pleased with our stay at this hotel,we had a canal view which was very nice. The staff were helpful even making a breakfast tray for us on our last morning as we were leaving early. It was good value and was clean.
“LeeinIL”
Palazzo Cendon is a loving hotel located in a central location for moving around Venice. Minutes from the train station. 2nd stop on Alilaguna water taxi from the airport, (Guglie on the Arencia-orange line), Great restaurants and shopping. Steps away from the famous triple arch bridge. It is not located on the grand canal, so you save big $$$. Spring for the charming suite at this low price(for Venice, anyway) and you will not be disappointed. We had two rooms for our family, Floor 1, room 1 and Floor 2, room 1. Both had a balcony that made watching the canal traffic wonderful entertainment. The restaurants located in the area were numerous and accomodating. (Proseco in the afternoon is terrific.) If you have small children, there is a very nice little park nestled in the back of some buildings half a block away, where you can meet and greet with the locals. The people were friendly and very much willing to share the swings, slides and grassy areas. It seemed that everyone wants to know the name of your child so they can say hello the next time they see you there. For Americans, the Paribus Bank (free ATM) is just over the bridge and around the corner. Breakfast at the hotel, included in the price, is adequate with meats and cereals and breads and juices and coffee. Nothing hot, but plenty of everything. The staff was adequate and polite. When in Venice, this is our hotel from now on. (Sorry for any spelling mistakes.)
“Excellent Location”
This is a small hotel situated very close to the vaporetto stop of Guglie. Quiet and secluded it was central enough to get to all the majot sites in Venice. Its only a short walk to the main station at Ferrovia. The accommodation was on the ground floor and comprised of 3 rooms including the bathroom. There was no problem with noise. it was in excellent decorative order. Breakfast was continental and had a varied selcection. It was self service.
“Ahhhhh, Venice!”
As first time travelers to Venice, this hotel was recommended to us and lived up to expectations. We spent 4 nights here and felt very comfortable. Not a cooked breakfast, but that suited us. Would stay here again - definitely.
“Extremely helpful staff”
The staff at the Palazzo Cendon was very friendly and helpful, especially the night manager. When our water taxi dropped us off at the wrong place at 10:30 at night, a call to the hotel resulted in step by step instructions and a cheerful greeting when we finally arrived.
“Location, Location!”
Hotel is very close to train station. Note; only foot traffic is allowed in the streets of Venice. Compare to others that had to walk and search for their hotel with their suitcases. Also very impressed with the hotel room and service.
“Very Good”
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the bus and train station which was great. The hotel had our room ready by 10am as we had arrived early in the morning from Rome. It looks as though they have renovated the hotel recently and we were fortunate to get a room overlooking the canal which was superb. The room was new, clean and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and the surrounding area is clean and quiet.
