Very stylish and comfortable on the grand canal

Posted 23-Aug-2014
The hotel is slightly away from the busy area of St marks, but that suited us away from the crowds. Took about 15 min to walk there. The hotel is very comfortable and the breakfast was simple but brilliant.

Nice Stay

The overall stay was wonderful. Great location, friendly staff, and free breakfast. The only issue that we noticed was that the wifi was not very good quality.

Felt like a film star! Gorgeous hotel, fab staff!

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: The interior design, the staff and their customer service! The breakfast and the fabulous cocktails. Location was perfect as well.
Cons: Not a thing!
Location: An absolute must is a multi day pass on the Vaporetti. The water buses are SO easy to use. One of our favourite areas was Dorsoduro.
We stayed for 7 days on our first visit to Venice. What an amazing hotel!! We arrived by private water taxi. I know this is expensive but it is an absolute MUST!! So glad we did it. We did not pre-book but went to the desk at the airport and booked a return. And what an amazing start to the holiday! The hotel entrance is on the Grand Canal and what a way to arrive! The hotel itself and its staff were exemplary. Glamorous, romantic and very chic. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. Each time we went out the "room fairies" cleaned the room, remade beds and left clean towels even if mid day. Breakfast was fantastic. A special mention must go to the lovely Bar Manager. She mixed the best cocktails ever! We managed to sit on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal ever evening enjoying one of her expertly mixed beverages. All staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. They were professional but relaxed. We visited the Basilica (stunning) and Campanile (what a fabulous view). We had a fabulous coffee and pastries at Café Florian. Visited Harry's Bar (cocktails expensive and not as good as those in hotel!). Also had a tour of the Opera House. The best advice would be plan to do what you really want to visit but really the best thing really is just to wander and stumble across things. Such a fantastic, relaxing holiday. We will definitely return in a few years for a long weekend - and will absolutely be heading for Palazzo Barbarigo!

Nice hotel on the Grand Canal.

Posted 10-Aug-2014
Pros: Good pricing, great view and good location away from the hustle of the St Marco area
Cons: Nothing to add
Location: If you arrive by water taxi it is easy to find right on the Grand Canal. If you arrive by their other entry it's a little harder but have a map.
Nice hotel on the Grand Canal with a great view. Room rate was very good considering other hotels pricing. Nice bar area on level one with a small balcony for anyone's use. Friendly staff. Will stay their again on my next visit to Venice.

Great boutique hotel

Posted 31-Jul-2014
We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Barbarigo in Venice. We had a classic room with a view of the canal, and it was a beautiful room that was very comfortable. We enjoyed the view from our window. The breakfast was very nice each morning with plentiful fruits, cereals, breads, yogurt, etc. and was served in a nice breakfast area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very good. It was close to the water bus stop and a easy walk to the Rialto Bridge, the San Marco square, and other popular spots, yet it was not as busy with people as those places. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in fabulous location

Posted 15-Jul-2014
We loved the hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The service we received was excellent and the breakfast was fantastic too. Would highly recommend getting a water taxi direct to the door like we did, as the hotel could have been tricky to find!

Amazing hotel on the canal

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: Accommodations,friendliness and great service.
Cons: Don't change
Location: Great bars, restaurants and shops.
The staff was amazing. The name of the lady at the front desk escapes me, but she was fantastic. I have been to Venice IT many times, but I would not stay in another hotel other than the Barbarigo.. Great place!!!!!!!

Great place 18 room palace on the canal

Posted 14-Jul-2014
We will be back, very friendly and great 'designer' interior. The look and feel you need to relax over a coffee after a hard days walk the place offers a good healthy breakfast and within a short walking distance from the much loved Rialto bridge.
