“Well placed and convenient for sights”
We spent 4 nights here in first week of Nov 11 with our 17 year old son. Convenient and 5 minutes walk from Rialto Bridge and the water taxi drop off point. Entrance hidden down alley way but hotel website map very useful. Hotel staff very pleasant and very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast served in room with choice of times and varied selection of hot drinks, juice, breads, cheese, ham, fruit, jams etc. Well placed hotel, minutes from waterbus stop for number 1 route at the Rialto market which allows access from bus station to Lido (with all stops in between eg Galleria Dell'Academia, Arsenale, Giardino, St Marks Square and access to other waterbus routes etc) also only 10 minutes walk from St Marks Square. Lots of cafes and eating places locally. Would recommend this hotel. Just remember mosquito repellant!
“I Would Stay There Again”
This is a nice little hotel, easy to find from the Rialto stop, over the bridge and straight down past the shops. The room was a decent size, clean, the owners and staff were nothing but helpful. Breakfast was served in the room and was varied in its choice. It is virtually on top of the market, so can be a little noisy outside early morning, but to be honest it was not really noticeable. It is quite centrally situated, so the major sights are easily accessible. I would quite happily stay there again. Just take your own hairdryer as the one in the bathroom was hopeless.
“Poor Operations”
My friend and I checked into Laconda and were told we were going to be put into a "very nice" room, complete with laundry and kitchen. Silly us, we thought we had been upgraded. Turns out, the hotel had overbooked, and they sent us to an empty apartment down the street. This wouldnt have been so bad had the apartment been in good condition. However, the apartment was extremely basic, and was in no way ready for guests. There were old, used soaps in the shower from previous guests, and no hot water. We asked to be moved to the original hotel after the first night, but were told that the hotel was full. Unfortunately, we had prepaid and with tourist season in full swing (July) we had no other option but to stay. The gentleman running the place was apologetic and very nice to us, but in reality we would have preferred to just get our money back!
“Great hotel and great value.”
Was very impressed with the hotel. Location is fantastic, right near the Rialto markets and Ponte De Rialto bridge. The room was a good size, bigger than expected. The breakfast gave a good chioce, croissants, cereal, yoghurt, biscuits, tea (best tea I have had abroad ever), coffee, juice etc.
“2nd visit”
Have stayed here before, close to lots of attractions, easy to get to from the airport, although if you are staying here for the first time the small alleyway might be a lttle difficult to find.
“Comfortable hotel”
We lost when trying to find this hotel. A local gentleman helped us locate it. We could never find it on our own because the entrance is hidden behind a narrow alley. The hotel is decent, and the room is clean. My teenage daughter liked the deco in the room. It is very close to the famous Rialto Bridge. So once you located it, you know how to get back to it. In the next morning, I walked to the vegetable+fruit market and fish market, by just crossing the bridge that next to the hotel.
“Great value hotel”
Very good, small hotel in traditional Venice style. Rooms very clean, reasonably comfortable, no frills. Very quiet. (Bed vary hard!). Breakfast satisfactory - well serviced. Big advantage of this hotel is that its excellent location.
“Very Impressed”
We booked a triple room in this hotel and I was very impressed. The room was huge (by Venetian standards) and had a double bed, single bed and a sofa as well as a massive 4 piece bathroom suite and an extra sink. Having been to venice 3 times and stayed at a variety of hotels, this is the one i'd most likely return to. Good shower, comfortable bed, low key, and central location with good food nearby. The fish market wasn't noisy and the smell was not intrusive. The breakfast was simply a warm croissant and pre-packaged toast but it filled the hole and got us going. A bit tricky to find initially, but with the map from the hotel's website we managed easily. Fantastic value for the price.
“Quite adequate ---but!!!!”
Venice hotels are expensive and for the money this hotel offers a good bedroom, is clean and in a good location for sightseeing. Breakfasts are a bit meagre and the male staff are surly and it seemed an effort to serve. On our last morning there were no ordinary tea bags only camomile or infusion. When we asked for some plain teabags we were told "Thats all we have" no apology.
“Great Location, Lovely Hotel”
The hotel does everything you want, its a two minute walk from the Rialto Bridge which makes getting around (and finding your way back) really easy. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Some will say that the hotel is hard to find but the directions on the hotels website make it easy peasy, even for the directionally challenged like me!! I'd certainly book again.

Area:
San Polo, Venice, Italy: Home of the Rialto Market, San Polo is the busiest sestiere (district) after San Marco. For local colour, great little shops, bars and cafes, the Rialto market area is a must. Dining on the Grand Canal next to the iconic Rialto Bridge is a romantic Venetian cliché. Near the bridge, the Ca Pesaro is home to the Museum of Modern Art while 16th-century masterpieces are on show at the Frari church and Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
