“Not a hotel! B&B”

If you're planning on going to Venice with a lot of luggage I wouldn't stay in Lido. The vaporettos (public transportation) are fairly busy most of the time and you'll spend a fortune if you use a water taxi. It's nice in Lido since you're away from the busy centre of Venice, it's a lot quieter and much less expensive. The accomodations were along the lines of a B&B, not a hotel. The owners were nice but seemed busy the whole time we were there. The breakfast was a regular continental breakfast. No A/C in the rooms. Room was hot, mattress was hard. There's a safe in the room. Expensive WiFi. Cheaper to buy public WiFi in Venice than an hour's worth at the hotel.

“Klein, aber fein....”

Sehr nettes Ambiente, fast familiär, in der Regel sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, die oft wechseln. Das Hotel liegt zwar etwas "entfernt" am Lido, trotzdem gute Verkehrsanbindung und man ist in 20 Minuten am Markusplatz. Die Zimmer sind schön und auch bei Familien mit Kindern sehr ruhig, Bad sehr groß und sauber, einfaches ausreichendes Frühstück, im "Wohnzimmer" serviert. Etwas Obst oder andere Brotsorten wären schön, aber das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist für Venedig hervorragend. Leider sind die wenigen Restaurants im Umkreis auch durch die Nähe des exklusiven Hotels Excelsior "farblos" und teuer, mit einiger Suche lassen sich jedoch auch preiswerte "einheimische" Lokale finden, wenn mich sowieso "in der Stadt ißt. Kommen gerne wieder.
