Good choice of wheelchair accessible rooms
We arrived fairly late and were expecting a wheelchair accessible room because I'd used that filter on my search. The person who received us was not expecting that, but showed us 2 rooms, either of which would have been suitable, and let us choose. It was good value, but when we checked out it cost more than I expected. Again, this is probably my fault in the way I booked it, which was fairly hurried.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Even told my wife there was a market on which wasn't too far. Directions to the hotel were precise and allowed for late check in and late check out. Great place as a base for exploring Venice.

Nice hotel on Lido, lot's of public transportation nearby or a 30-40 minute walk to the main ferry terminals. Breakfast was great and the staff was extremely accommodating, they even brought me something to eat for the morning when I had to leave before breakfast.

This hotel was an amazing value. I had a room with a balcony and it was perfect. Staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, location for price was unbeatable- 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes from the ferry to the hotel on the bus or a 34 minute walk. I strongly recommend this hotel and would go back in a heartbeat

Fabulous value for money
Hotel itself is set on the lagoon side of the island, close to the bus route if you need it though we hired bikes and there is a garden to store them safely. Also it's only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Our room offered views of the lagoon and the equestrian centre which were both lovely to wake up to. Rooms are also spotlessly clean and spacious and cleaned daily/new towels also. Staff were always courteous though not over bearing. Breakfast room is clean and peaceful and the continental breakfast was good especially as it was included in the cost. Staff keep the food topped up constantly. This is a really great value hotel when looking at quality v price, we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend

Fantastic location. So close to the beach. And they have an arrangement with one of the private beaches, so you can get sun loungers, parasols set up for you for a small fee. You can rent bikes from there too. Staff are fantastic, knowledgeable about local amenities & English speaking. Good breakfast which is included in your room rate.

Balanced view on overall good experience
Lovely clean, very basic hotel. A good 25 mins walk from ferry port which you will need for trips to and from for airport, venice etc which cost about €15 return per person each time. Also a couple of very nice bars/restaurants/free beach near by but biggest choice is again 25 min walk

Great for the price!
We used this as a base for Venice. I'm sure in height of season the Lido is more lively. However for us there wasn't much to do over there but that's because we went in April. It was however, nice to go back to a more chilled environment after the crowds of Venice. Hotel was brill in itself. Spacious room, nice bathroom, air con, decent breakfast and helpful staff. The area around the hotel seemed a little run down, although saying that, that seems to be Venice as a whole. Look up above the shops/restaurants and it's tired looking. It seemed safe enough though and amenities close by with the main strip just a short walk or quick bus ride.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms may have been modernised recently but in the bathroom there was no toilet paper holder or hand grab in the shower. I guess these have to be installed.

Very satisfied overall and wonderful staff.
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days. Very nice CLEAN hotel. The staff was very nice. Sofia was very kind to let us use her phone charger because we only had the 110V charger. And to top it all, we checked out the night before, because we had to leave early morning. When we stepped out of the room, they left us a bag with croissants, orange juice and water bottles. We left with a very good impression of the hotel, staff really showed that they really care about their guests. Would recommend this place always. From the water taxis station and easy access to the busses, easy transportation.

Clean and Friendly Hotel
The Hotel is very clean and staff helpful and friendly, The breakfast is good as is the location, only a short bus ride into the centre of Lido where you can catch the water bus across to Venice. A very enjoyable experience.

Extra charges for sun beds!
The hotel itself was lovely, choice at breakfast was plentiful and very nice. Most of the staff were nice and helpful apart from one lady on reception. Considering the hotel is probably the last one on the end of the lido so far away from the main beat, I think it’s very unfair to charge you as a paying guest for the sun beds on there beach, when I questioned the lady on reception about it her answer was basically tough, you should’ve bought a package to include hire of the beds and scrumpled the paper up in my face. We booked via here and weren’t given that option to add said package in !! So after a few grumbles we left with a 5 Euro discount for the beds which took it to 20€ instead of 25€. On arrival at the beach we sat on the beds in the front row so next to the sea, to be then chased off and told we weren’t allowed to sit there ! We could only sit in row 3.... after a change of words we settled in row 2, but you get nothing for your money. The next day we walked further along and stayed on the blue moon beds, 2 beds and brolly for 25€ , this included use of personal showers and toilets, there are massage ladies frequenting the area and lots of drink wagons up and down for refreshments. So my advice would be to head further up as it’s a much more pleasant place. Overall the hotel was fine but way to out for what we were looking for and the charge of the beds put me off staying there again

Dear Tracey, thank you for your review, already at your arrival you gave us a bad feedback through expedia regarding the location and when I personally asked you about and if there was anything we could do, you said that you never wrote it and that everything was fine, so it's quite weird and unfair now to read all this complains about the surroundings and hotel services. When you made a booking it is clearly shown where the hotel is located, in a quiet residential area 2,5 km from the center 200 meters from the beaches (privates and public) with all the amenities, and buses running 24 hours and thaking you to the center in 5 minutes, so not so isolated as you described. You have chosen to reserve a standard Double room and nowhere is write "free access to the private beach" whereas just below you have the choice to reserve the “Double room with Beach package” if you haven't fund it at the moment you've made the reservation means that was all booked at that time, anyway it is clearly write in the services section, for any further doubt I would suggest you to always contact directly the hotel. The hotel's private beach acces is a paid service at the discounted rate of € 20,00 for all our guests, including the reservation of 1 umbrella and 2 sunbeds from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm, hot water showers and toilets, lifeguard service, bar and restaurant and use of changing rooms. Once you get the beach voucher, instead of provide it to the beach reception and get taken by a clerk to your umbrella, you went directly to the umbrella you wished without asking, and you've been taken to the last raw simply because you haven't booked in advance. After that if you prefer the Bluemoon beach, which is more expensive and the most crowded and touristy beach of the island you are free to choose, but please don't give incorrect suggestions. Long weekend with lovely hotel
Quiet and family run hotel and we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely and the staff could not have done enough for us. Would definitely go back

Great location away from the crowds. Management seemed to be new or inexperienced in running a hotel. Staff was unaware of local services despite them being within walking distance of hotel. Reluctant to let us use umbrellas during rainfall.

I would not recommend this hotel especially because of the receptionist attitude and that they deceive with on offer and when you arrive you see that is totally different from the picture from your confirmation ( in may case i booked with a double bed I also put it on the preferences that I want a double bed and I get 2 beds united. And when I told them about this they told me that they usually try to respect the costumers preferences, but in my case the double bed was in they Facilities’ area, but they didn't care). If you tall them something they will tall you to leave if you don't like it and they even say that they will tell the booking company that you didn’t presented to the hotel. The problem is that you have a non-refundable money you will lose the money. So practically you don't have a choose. For me is my last time when I book from hotel.com or a make a non-refundable reservation in case of canceling.

And we are sorry but you didn't understood what has been offered to you. Dear Sir, you have chose to book an "Economy Double Room, Garden View, Annex Building" with a discountend price of € 85,00/night in peak season, exactly the room you've got, the Customer Request "Double Bed" as stated by Expedia (though which you choosed to made your reservation) is just a request not a guarantee, we gave you a free early check in (usuallynot included in the price), once you told us that you were unhappy with the 2 beds puted toghether, as we could not offer you any other room, we gave you the possibility to cancel free of charge (usually not possible with a not refundable reservation) that means we offered to contact expedia and authorize them with the cancelation free of charge. Once you accept to stay, means you agree with price and conditions. Best regards

We stayed there for 5 days 14 May till 19 May 2017 , we reach there on Sunday evening and till Thursday there air conditioning was not working it feels like some 1 have put us in the oven it was so hot. As picture shown on there webpage that beach is just in front of the hotel but it was 15 mints far from the hotel and there is no beach umbrellas and beach is closed because of the construction. About breakfast it was just fine , cold bread , cold boiled eggs just a time pass.

Dear Sir, we are sorry for this bad review as during your stay here you didn't seemed so unsatisfied, we apologies for the inconvenience caused by the air conditioning breakdown, as soon as we fund out the problem we called the assistance that unfortunately took 4 days to get the piece needed, anyhow we suddenly offered you to move in a fresher room as the seaview room you've got has the sun hiting all day (anyhow in this period we have only 20°). Regarding the beaches, the map and pictures on expedia shows clearly that we are located on the Lagune side of the island, 200 meters from the beaches (maximum 5 minutes walking) all the beaches are open with free entrance, all the private beaches start providing their services from the 1st June to 15 September as by local laws. When in Venice, stay in Lido!
Utterly uncomplicated and friendly service. Sorriso suited me because I don't like over-decorated, kitchy hotels - this one is clean, sharp, white, and clear-lined. The room was a no-frills utilitarian but comfortable and very quiet space, great also for some undisturbed work. A hotel completely to my taste!

It was an okay stay, but an expensive one.
Overall it was good, except breakfast had not much of choices, shader was very small uncomfortable, I couldn't move around. As compared to price versus values, it weasn't justified .

Clean room and clean private bathroom which was my priority. Very basic room amenities but not needed if you are spending most of the day out. Main issue is that wifi was slow and sometimes did not work

Lovely clean hotel
Lovely clean basic hotel, staff were helpful, we had a late check in and it all went to plan, comfortable beds, based in a lovely residential area, It is about two miles from the waterbus stops but buses are regular so no problem getting out and about, lido has the benefit of a lovely beach which is a two minute walk from the hotel, all in all a great choice of hotel and will be going back

The place was amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was extremely clean and we had an even cleaner bathroom. The shower was drastically small but wasn't too bad to manage. Overall, I would most definitely be back.

Beautiful, minimal and clean
In a city as visually chock-full as Venice, it's good to retreat to this minimally decorated space with clean lines and silence. There are no decorative elements anywhere except in the lobby, a rare feature which I haven't seen anywhere else. It makes the rooms feel very spacious - and they are very spacious.

The quality of the room was mediocre. One of the bed lamps were not working even after the receptionist gave us a light bulb. The air conditioner was not working upon arrival either. Having told the receptionist about the issue, (esp when one of us suffers from asthma) she told us that there are no air conditioners available at the hotel and so she gave us water - she charged us €2.60 for the water and €9.60 tax fee in the end. The breakfast was extremely basic, the croissants and cakes were stale. I wouldn't be staying at this hotel again. I'd recommend the hotels in Marghera.

Pleasant hotel near beach on Venice Lido
Hotel Sorriso is modern, light and immaculately clean. Our beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern with an excellent shower. The main downside is the commute to and from Venice. When you take the vaporetto from Venice to the Lido you then have to take a bus to the hotel. There is usually one within 10 minutes and it's around a 10 minute ride but the bus can be very, very crowded during busy periods. Allow for an average of an hour's commute to and from Venice. The area around the hotel is very quiet so it's a good location to unwind after the being in a busy city. and if you want to spend a day on the beach it is ideal. Altogether a very good hotel and excellent value for money provided you don't mind a commute to Venice.

A very nice hotel. The bathroom in the single was VERY small - even for a petite woman. Note that you have to pay to use the private beach - especially if you book the single room - there are beach packages that one has to pay extra for (20euro for the day for an umbrella and two beds). They don't mention that on Hotels.com. Generally very nice vibe in the hotel, breakfast is pleasant, if not delicious. And the dog is nice enough, but barks at people occasionally (as in at me, which was fine because it didn't feel aggressive, but just a note to consider if you are scared of dogs). The staff is very helpful and sweet. It is really fun to bike around the island - especially the bottom half.

For the price, excellent.
Hotel is easy to access via buses that run every 10mins or so. Room was perfect, nice shower and facilities and very clean. Bed was ok in terms of comfort, only had one pillow. (Used to sleeping on two) Included breakfast does the job, nothing overly fancy. Wish there had have been a toaster though! Overall I'm glad we stayed here instead of venice centre as it's too busy and the price is silly for what you get. Public transport is great here so no effort.

A small, quiet, clean and good value hotel
I reached the Lido by direct water bus from the airport and then a 1.30 euro bus trip to the hotel from the ferry terminal. The manageress and her daughter were very welcoming and dealt with a couple of my problems promptly and without fuss. As a single traveller I enjoyed a spacious en-suite room which opened on to a large balcony with views over the Venetian Lagoon. There was a large wardrobe with more than adequate hanging space. however there was a dearth of drawers which proved a little inconvenient. The breakfast was served in a spacious dining-room and was more than filling for full days spent exploring Venice. It was also a convenient location from which to reach most locations in Venice itself as well as other Lagoon locations. There are also good restaurants, shops and services close by the hotel I had a most enjoyable stay and may well return again next May.

Comfortable, clean, convenient outside Venice
Very nice service at desk, sunny spacious room, not fancy but very comfortable. Minor things I would change: make it so you don't have to log into wifi network every time you use it, and better coffee at breakfast! Lido is not a very interesting area, but it is quiet and pleasant. The beaches are probably nice in the summer (we were there a little too early in the season to swim). It is relatively easy to get to Venice, and the hotel is a fraction of the price of a comparable Venetian hotel.
