Great little gem

Lovely hotel - amazing location and we were upgraded to a room with a view of the canal and we could listen to the singers on the gondolas. Had a wonderful holiday and was so pleased that we chose this hotel.

A simple but comfortable & convenient hotel

Posted 07-Mar-2014
We really enjoyed our short stay (for three days) at the beginning of March. The hotel is in a very good location - a 2 minute walk from San Marco and close to the Fenice theatre. Don't expect luxury but our rooms were attractively decorated and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts were pretty good, and I expect even more enjoyable when the weather is warm enough to sit at the tables outside in the hotel's courtyard. With the exception of a rather grumpy breakfast waiter on our first morning, all the staff were always very pleasant and helpful. Cost-wise, we felt we got good value for money and would definitely stay here again.

Good Central Hotel

Posted 28-Jan-2014
This is a good hotel in a very central location, easy walking distance to everywhere. We stayed here for 7 days, the room was large and very clean with nice details like chandeliers and ornate mirrors. There was free WiFi which was great and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. The staff were friendly and helpful. Downsides were that the view from our window looked out onto another building a few metres away and that every time we left the hotel we had to drop off our room keys at reception for 'security reasons' which was irritating. Overall i would definitely stay here again. Its a shame Venice has become so touristy now though.

Pros: It was at walking distance of Piazza San Marco
Cons: The heater didn't heat up, and was a little cold at night
The hotel upgraded us to a room next to the canal and in the evening we could here the gondola men singing right outside our window! It was great! It's very near from San Marco, a lot of restaurants and shops. The room was very spacious as well as the bathroom. Also, the breakfast was nice: yogurt, tea, coffee, breads, several type of hams and cheese, cereal...very complete! Will definitely recommend this hotel!

Perfect location for exploring Venice

Posted 27-Oct-2013
Pros: Breakfast simple but plentiful and runs till relatively late so you don't have to rush in the mornings.
Cons: The hotel site should make it clearer that taking the water taxi right to their dock isn't usually possible as the canal there is very narrow and is c
Location: The location is perfect, a few steps from St Marks and the vaparetto stops that will take you wherever you might want to go.
Lovely little hotel in an old Venetian house, with an incredibly pretty courtyard. Staff courteous and helpful. We were able to hear the gondoliers singing, and the bell of St Mark's Campanile from our bed.

Centrally located hotel in Venice

Posted 20-Oct-2013
Pros: It's charm and character
Cons: In room tea and coffee making facilities
Location: Very close to St Marks Square for sightseeing and central for other sites of interest
The Hotel San Moise exuded character. Situated near a beautiful church of the same name it was close to St. Marks Square and conveniently situated for the vaporetto stop. A little research and we found out it was a converted convent which gave it extra charm. The breakfast room was a little on the small side but there was a good selection of hot and cold food. Our room was spacious and overlooked the canal, great for watching the chaos of the gondolas going by. The staff were helpful and friendly, I would advise caution if visitors have a disability as all rooms seemed to be on the first floor and I couldn't see a lift. Otherwise if you are looking for a central hotel to explore this beautiful city I can recommend the San Moise.

Hotel is in great location, staff is very friendly, but the bathrooms need additional exhaust ventilation. Mold is growing in various places in the bathroom (ceiling, walls, corners, etc.) but appears they clean it off before it becomes too large of an area. This is the only downside of this hotel. Breakfast was good, location good, condition good, and the price is well aligned.

Would Recommend an Overnight Stay

Posted 20-Aug-2013
We were only spending one night in Venice. The location was superb - we walked to the hotel from the water bus. Good central location near St. Marks Square. Hotel is located on a canal so we sat outside and listened to the gondoliers singing as they went by. We were able to walk everywhere from our hotel. Breakfast was wonderful - croissants, muffins, eggs, cereal. Room was extremely small but we didn't mind.
