“Nice View”
The hotel is in a nice location overlooking the ocean and close to the town square/church. Venice doesn't seem big but walking througout those streets will get you lost quick, wear comfortable shoes. The hotel is beautiful, historic, and has a great breakfast buffet. The service is great.
“Wonderful stay”
Very well situated. Staff very helpful. Room very comfortable. Good food from the restaurant. Despite all that is said about how expensive Venice is i will say this was very good value for money.
“The best location in Venice”
It was easy to get to the hotel. Just take the Alilaguina blue line boat from the airport and get off at the San Marco stop. Then it's a fifty metre walk along the promenade. Lovely hotel, but very expensive to eat there. Best to go for a short walk into the venice side streets and find a quiet restaurant by a canal. The hotel is in an amazing location. You are near to all the greatest sights in Venice and you have a great view across the sea to all the different islands. You can just sit there and watch the hustle and bustle and look at the various boats and cruise ships sailing by. Thoroughly recommended.
“KSWRL”
I have recently returned from a fabulous stay at the Locanda Vivaldi and it didn't disappoint in any way. The service was excellent and we had a beautiful room with a stunning view of the basin. We were a family of four with young children and were all made to feel welcome at all times. A must is to have a meal on the terrace. The food was superb, the company intimate (only a few diners) and the sunset and view must be one of the best in the whole of Venice. If the hotel is reading this please pass on my congratulations to the only waiter and cook, they do a fantastic serice for the hotel. It is set in an excellent location and I would recommend this hotel to anyone......................I hope to return again one day............xx
“Can't wait to go back”
Our family of 5 stayed 5 nights at Hotel Licanda Vivaldi in Venice. We had two adjoining rooms with a private balcony overlooking the side canal. We also went to the rooftop terrace for several meals; the view was spectacular. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The staff were very courteous and helpful, even though our knowledge of the Italian language is minimal at best. The location was perfect - we walked out the front door and faced the Grand Canal, only two bridges from St. Mark's Square. We were sorry to leave, and hope to be back soon.
“Perfect location if you want it near S.Marco and with the water view.”
It has all you might demand from a 4 star hotel, including: - clean and convinient (lift, enough room to walk around even with your luggage) - not crowded (november) - spacious room - helpful nonintrusive staff - decent breakfast including hot dishes (eggs and grilled ham) - large safe, free wi-fi, good mini-bar, convinient bed We were very surprised to find here not a a stinky old building (we were ready to except it since this is an old town with high air moisture) but a fresh and clean hotel in a historical building.
“Enjoy!”
We had stayed here before, but the hotel has had a major re-vamp and virtually doubled in size. Breakfast is much improved, and the hotel restaurant is a real bonus. The service was great, the room clean and the staff really helpful. However, the baths have been replaced by a really pokey shower cubicle - and we missed the view of the lagoon whilst enjoying a jacuzzi bath! This was ok for the 2 nights that we stayed, but you might like to investigate further if staying for longer.
“A friendly hotel with a stunning view”
The Locanda Vivaldi hotel, situated a stone's throw from Piazza San Marco, gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived. The staff speak English and were without except friendly and helpful. Dinner on the rooftop terrace wasn't cheap, but the food was excellent and the view over the lagoon was absolutely stunning. Our only reservations were about our room. It abutted the church next door to the hotel, which meant it got no sunlight at all and was thus a little gloomy and, at night, rather cold. On the plus side, this meant the room was absolutely silent at night - and besides, who wants to spend much time in their hotel room when they're in Venice? The location is superb, and if you arrive from Marco Polo airport on the waterbus then you are brought literally to the front door of the hotel. Despite the nippy room, we had a wonderful stay, and can recommend the Locanda Vivaldi very highly indeed.
“A very convenient hotel”
Convenient location, lovely outlook from lagoon view rooms and the top floor bar, pleasant staff, breakfast buffet included and the laundry service works; what's not to like?
“hotel in Venice”
perfect location, perfect maintenance, very comfortable beds and pillows, good breakfast, price-quality ratio is impeccable
