“Would definitely stay again if ever returned to Venice.”

We chose this hotel as my sister and brother-in-law and friends had stayed previously and recommended it. The welcome on arrival was excellent and we were "upgraded" so were very satisfied with our room, apart from thefact that lights in the sleeping area could have been a little brighter. That apart, the ambience was excellent and we have absolutely no complaints and would both stay there again and certainly recommend the hotel to others. Its central location is a real bonus. Also the fact that it was close to a Vaparetto stop and that for the ferry and boats to the islands. It certainly enhanced our visit to Venice.

“Amazing”

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was easy to find, full of incredible Venetian glass chandeliers, with a beautiful courtyard garden. Our room was extremely quiet, with a lower room with a couch, writing desk, 'fridge and TV, and an upper mezzanine floor where the double bed, Moroccan style lounge corner couch, bathroom and another TV was. We even found a bottle of complimentary on ice waiting in our room which we enjoyed on the private rooftop terrace garden. We had not expected such character and style. The breakfasts were plentiful with a good selection. Just beware of the sparrows when eating in the courtyard garden.

Area recommendations
The location was excellent being a short walk to the Rialto and within easy reach of St Marks. The vaporretto boats were a couple of minutes away. It was possible to escape the crowds taking back routes. The Cannaregio area was a very pleasant surprise, away from the more touristic San Marco, San Polo and Santa Croce. We would definitely recommend going to Murano, Burano and Torcello for a days excursion if time allows.
Events and shows
This was the first time we had visited Venice during the Biennale and would definitely co-ordinate to be there when it was on again. A wonderful mix of free art venues scattered around the city with some exciting and bemusing exhibits.

“Quiet Location”

Our room had a bathroom with a sloping roof, which made it a bump hazard when using the toilet or bidet. The pillows were flat and did not provide much head support. The hotel does not have direct access to the water but it is only a short walk to two different water bus stops. The Font. Nove stop is convenient for the airport and the northern lagoon islands, Murano & Burano. Ca d'Oro is slightly closer to the hotel and good for Grand Canal touring. The neighborhood is quiet and the hotel owned restaurant with separate management is very good. The breakfast buffet is decent but not spectacular. The property is well maintained and the rooms are clean with efficient service. Overall, it was a good Venice value for the price paid.

“Great location, great accomodations!”

This is an historic hotel in Venice that is convenient to all the sites, ferries, restaurants but in a less crowded area than other city hotels. One block away, there is a piazza with cafe, pizza, bridge and benches that is perfect for people watching when you are tired of wandering all the little alleyways. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. Internet access is free but only works in the lobby.

Getting around
When you arrive, if you take the ferry from the airport be sure to buy a multi-day pass for the ferries as it will save you money.

try the organic gelato near the Ca' d Oro (near the McDonalds) - best in the city!

“We love this hotel”

The Giorgione turned out to be much more than we expected. Our room had a loft bedroom; the sitting area has a 2 story tall window that opens to a beautiful courtyard with fountain. And the breakfast buffet is fantastic. We loaded up on breakfast then had a late lunch out. Theres no shortage of good restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be the pillows are too thin. And some people may be put off on the location having to walk a bit to get to it. Its not on a canal. But we like the location bc it is quiet and just a short walk to the main traffic areas.

“exellent for the price”

We have been many times in Venice but this is a cosy, friendly hotel, clean, helpfull staff and good price. The only comment against is the hot water took a long time with much water waste,Room 123, but we did not mention it to the reception.

Area recommendations
Go accross the rialto bridge and visit the vegetable market and fish market. take the vaporetto to academia and walk a short distance to the Guggenheim Museum, lovely little oasis and great view of venice from the canal. Most restaurants are averadge, italian food is better in UK.

“Perfect location, less than perfect check-in!”

A little on the snooty side at the reception, however, the other hotel employees made up for it. Breakfast was very generous, and wonderful service. The female desk clerk, could not have been more helpful, especially with restaurant suggestions. The luggage episode started it off on a bad note, but the location is fabulous and the common rooms of the hotel very attractive. Also, they serve tea every afternoon, which no one bothered mentioning to us!

Area recommendations
Canareggio, much nicer than San Marco. And quieter too!
