Brilliant location as a base for visiting Venice

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Great location, lovely staff, comfortable clean rooms.
Cons: More variety in the breakfast buffet ( for people staying more than a couple of days). Tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
Location: Venice isn't huge so with a pass to hop on the vaporetto we managed to do it all, including Murano, Burano and the Venice Lido in three days.
Friendly, clean and well located. Just a few streets from St Marks Square and easy access to all of Venice and its islands using the vaporetto (make sure you buy a pass for the whole of your stay so you can just hop on and off wherever you want to). It's a good idea to do a full length vaporetto ride along the Grand Canal to get your bearings....sit outside at the front or back depending on the direction of the sun. We had a lovely attic room with a small terrace overlooking the Grand Canal and the Peggy Guggenheim building. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast was good although could do with a bit of variation as it was exactly the same for the four mornings we were there. As seems to be normal in Europe, there were no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms....we were okay because I'd already read reviews mentioning this so we took our own kettle and supplies. You could have drinks via room service but its nicer to be able to just make it for yourself whenever you please. We would stay there again if visiting Venice again and would probably request the same room (no. 26) as it was lovely having the canal view, although there are other rooms with either window views or balconies/terraces. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone intending to visit this beautiful place.

Nice & central but quiet.

Posted 06-Nov-2014
Pros: Position in the city.
Cons: Breakfast. Especially the coffee !
Location: St. Mark's square & basilica.
As above. Very easy to reach by water taxi. Very helpful staff. Lovely room. Always clean. Breakfast bit dull - could have been better, but always enough. Recommended.

Nice little hotel with private pier

Posted 02-Nov-2014
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast
Location: Very near 2 Vaporetto stops, including San Marco.
Nice little jewel near San Marco with a private dock very close. No need to drag your luggage up and down bridges is a big plus. Convenient location, pleasant staff, good continental breakfast, with a nice, but small room. All in all a great place to stay in Venice. We would stay here again.

Location, location, location! Perfecto!

Posted 01-Nov-2014
Great friendly staff! Very clean! They offer a European breakfast! Not to be confused with an American breakfast...you know bacon, eggs, French toast you get where I'm going! The location is in the midst of it all and away from the tourist maze! We will stay here again!

Nice hotel closed to St Marco Square

Posted 01-Nov-2014
Pros: We like the location and it is very quiet
The location is good as it's only a 10-min walk to St Marco Square but it is still very quiet and away from all the tourist crowd. If you take the ferry or water bus, you will need to cross 2 bridges and walk more than 250m. But if you are prepared to pay for water taxi (70 EUR one way), then it's only 10m from the landing point. We stayed 2 nights in a family room on the 4th floor. It was clean, comfortable and spacious. As the lift only served up to 3rd floor, we needed to walk up 2 flights of steps to our room. Our room comes with a standard continental breakfast. The staff are helpful and we had a pleasant stay there.

Quiet Hotel in Good Location

Posted 31-Oct-2014
Pros: The location and view. Room is very quiet.
Cons: Pillows on the bed were lacking, only two very thin pillows for a king sized bed. Some of the furnishings and carpet are beginning to show some wear.
Location: Location is perfect.
We had a great view of the grand canal along with a small balcony from our third floor room. The room was comfortable and very quiet. Location is about 10 min from San Marco square on a very quiet side street away from the tourist routes. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a nice buffet of cereal, fruit, rolls, cheeses, and ham along with fresh coffee or tea.

Good Location, but hard to find

Posted 30-Oct-2014
The hotel was in a good location, and down a quiet street off a nice little square with a church and shops. At night it was a dark and there is no sign to find the hotel. While it is a relatively new hotel in an older building the furnishings are worn. The bed was comfortable, there was an elevator, and the staff was nice. The breakfast buffet was ample.

A gem of a hotel close to sights

Posted 24-Oct-2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff and it's very central location.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Central location next to the Grand Canal and all the sights.
We booked a room with a view of the Grand Canal and this did not disappoint. Room was small but had a balcony overlooking the Grand Canal which was fabulous. Hotel was comfortable and centrally located. Staff were helpful and friendly.
