Very nice Venice January 2015.

Posted 30-Jan-2015
Pros: Its proximity to everything yet its peaceful setting. Service was very friendly and breakfast is easily substantial even for a hungry Scotsman.
Cons: Bigger waste bin in room ?
Location: Academia, the student quarter is very close as is San Marco square. The rialto bridge is a short wander. Ferry is accessible at Santa Maria del Giglio
We bought the 'gimmefive' ticket in advance which allowed us five days of travelling on the Alilaguna services. So consequently we arrived at our hotel (300m walk) jetty by sea from the airport. It was in the evening which was a special way to see the Grand Canal. We were welcomed warmly, anxieties surrounding language dispelled by English speaking reception. Our room had a view over the Grand Canal which made it more special throughout our stay, with an opportunity to sit outside on a veranda. The room was perfect for us. Saint Mark's square was only a seven minute wander away. We enjoyed exploring other areas on foot, or jumping on and off the Alilaguna ferry. We got a free ride to the islands, visiting Murano for the glass-blowing and Burano and Torcello. Four and a half hours, take something to snack on and to keep warm whilst on the sea. Evenings spent choosing an eatery and meandering. Visits to churches and access to museums was included in the ticket (gimmefive), the highlight was the Basilica S. Marco. We actually went on Sunday around the time of the service and entered the museum for five euro each. This allows you to be upstairs when the singing is going on down below as well as access to some special pieces of history regarding the mosaics and the building itself. Whilst upstairs you get to see the inside of the ceiling of the Basilica in all its glory. They block off a full view of the Basilica downstairs, but you can access the best bits. Gondola ride a must.

Déçus

Posted 29-Jan-2015

Hotel bien situe, proche place st marc 10 minutes

Posted 21-Jan-2015

Lovely hotel in the heart of things

Posted 06-Jan-2015
Having managed to easily locate the hotel following the clear instructions provided by Marco when I emailed the hotel, I was warmly greeted and escorted to my hotel room. The room was lovely, located on the top floor. Breakfast was regularly topped up and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Would recommend this hotel and will certainly look to stay here should I come to Venice again.

Very good location

Posted 06-Jan-2015
Pros: Excellent location - pretty central to all sites
Cons: Could be more proactive with service - had to be reminded that we were 4 in a room so tea facilities were not always in sufficient quantity.
Location: Good to see tourist sites and walking distance to almost everything i.e shops, restaurants.
Very good facilities and comfortable for sleeping and relaxing in.
