“Wow factor experience”
Surprising convenient. Not happy about side trip to Murano. Breakfast was excellent but is repetitive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all an enjoyable stay.
“Very disappointing.”
If location is your ONLY priority then you will enjoy this hotel. Right on the Grand Canal with excellent access to all there is to see and do in Venice. The rooms are not only claustrophobic, but very badly designed. It is impossible to charge a phone, laptop, camera or any other device as the electrical sockets are activated by the key card and therefore if you are not physically present in the room, there is no output. Charging at night is also not an option unless you want to sleep with the lights on, as the moment that you switch off the main lamp, the power to the sockets cuts out. One male member of staff on reception was very helpful and accommodating, the remainder throughout the hotel were rude and incompetent. Wifi is charged at 7 euro per 3 hours with a low signal that drops out completely every few minutes. We waited more than 20 minutes for the bell boy to assist with luggage, at which point he turned up with no trolley for our cases which meant countless trips in the tiny elevator. Room service was speedy, but each order arrived with something missing. The black corridors (literally!) throughout give this already space compromised building a very depressive air, not helped by the heating/AC system, which is at best, loud and intrusive. On the plus side, the breakfast was good. There are so many hotels in Venice, many in excellent spots. I would definitely avoid this one if you want a comfortable and warm experience.
“Good location, Staff were good.”
It is a really overpriced hotel for what it is. Staff cannot be faulted but the in house prices were dumb and way overpriced. I know it is Venice but having stayed at 5 star hotels around the world it is always the case that basics like Tea and coffee are sensibly priced as is the wifi which in my view should always be free. It was modern hype and no substance. I have been to much better "chic" hotels and they always fail to be comfortable in my view this as the same. Very odd colour schemes throughout with the occasional stunning design. More luck than judgement. Pity, position really good, staff try really hard, let down by poor pricing.
“Impeccable servi ce”
Greatly impressed by the hotel service. Good location and close to some activities. Decent size rooms but not much of a view. Excellent daily breakfast buffet. Would recommend hotel to friends and family and will return.
“Amazing Venice Hotel”
We had an amazing experience at the Hotel Centurion. We stayed there 2 nights for our honeymoon. Breakfast in bed was the best! They have redone this hotel with great amenities and decorations in the room and hallways. Our bathroom looked completely gold! Great location on the canal, however, our room did not have a view of the canal. There is also no bridge near the area so you have to take a water taxi to get to the main area of Venice, but that only takes about 15 minutes. Overall we loved our stay here. Staff were very nice and helpful.
“One of the best in venice”
i stayed in venice for 5 days for my honeymoon and im glad i chose this hotel , this is one of the finest hotels in venice if not the best! .. the service was excellent, the staff is really friendly, and the room is great comparable to the other hotels in venice!
“Excellent location”
Hotel was first rate. Breakfast especially was a delight. There was one flaw, however: -- most of the rooms were on two levels - the bed on the highest level, that is, a step up. This is dangerous and I fell. A hotel of this category should correct this default, or at the least make a BIG point of telling the guests to be very very careful, especially at night.
“Superb hotel - absolutely delighted”
Everything about the Centurion Palace was superb - from the friendliness and professionalism of the staff to the brilliant combination of modern design with a traditional building. We particularly liked having breakfast on the Hotel's outdoor area on the Grand Canal. Although the hotel is on the south side of the Grand Canal, the nearby trajetto gondola ferry service provided a quick and scenic shortcut to the magnificent Piazza San Marco. After busy days of sight seeing, the hotel provided a calm and attractive environment in which to relax and recharge the batteries. The quiet of the hotel's immediate surroundings were a wonderful tonic to the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas. There are plenty of places to eat in Venice although we would not recommend the nearby 'Gondolieri' restaurant - very expensive but offering tiny portions of unexciting food. The nearby Guggenheim collection of modern art is well worth a visit - if only to appreciate the differences between ancient and modern. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, relaxing and luxurious place to stay in Venice.
“And the Pope came to visit”
A wonderful weekend, the hotel was excellent and the location splendid. We didn't know the Pope was visiting on the Sunday until we arrived however it added to the overall splendour of our visit. Venice is so interesting and so are the surrounding islands, the beach on the Lido was clean and a good place to avoid Papal activities. Anyone who likes contemporary design should visit the Centurion Palace, many people were stopping to take pictures of the courtyard and the magnificent Murano glass chandelier in the reception hall. The hotel restaurant was good but limited most people choosing to eat there on their first night only, breakfast was very good, choice of hot and cold. Arriving by water taxi direct to the hotel dock is the best way although there is a waterbus dock at Santa Maria (Salute) right next door about 75 meters from the Hotel, they get pretty crowded at certain times of day a bit like the London Underground so, highly recommend a taxi if you have baggage. The staff at the hotel were great , even doing our online check in for us as the hotel guest internet access was not working . Venice is not the cheapest place to visit but probably one of the most interesting places. If you want a cheaper Venice, go to La Marais Poitevin in France and visit the Green Venice, I can recommend Hotel Le Central in Coulon, We did it the week before our trip to Venice Italy.
“Would surely go back someday”
It was a wonderful experience. Faced no harships. Smooth sailing from the time we reached until we departed. Hotel staff were very sweet and helpful. Clean rooms that are cleaned daily and well maintained. Flights were also on time and got to choose my own seats..Awesome vacation.

The area also benefits from the influence of the university with some lively bars and nightlife (rare in Venice).
