Beautifully decorated and authentic hotel

Posted 21-Oct-2014
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ca' Vendramin di Santa Fosca even though on the whole we were a little disappointed with Venice itself. Was a little difficult to find, but then again everything in Venice is! However all staff were very helpful and courteous as the building was beatiful

Great hotel conveniently located

Posted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: The location was right on a canal, in a quiet area away from hustle and bustle but still close to restaurants and shopping.
Cons: Nothing. We were very satisfied with everything.
Location: Great pizzeria just over the bridge. Restaurants nearby. Close to local shopping and to the water taxi stop that will take you all over Venice,
We absolutely love this hotel. Old world charm with a modern room right on a canal. Quiet and in a great location. The customer service was fantastic. Tilly and Camilla were so accommodating and made suggestions on what to do and places to see. No elevator but they personally carried our luggage to and from our room and arranged for transportation for us. We couldn't have asked for better service. They offered a nice breakfast in the morning. Would definitely return to this hotel next time in Venice.

Hotel Ca' Vandramin di Santa Costa

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Pros: We liked the fact that it is in a nice quiet location and is typically Venetian The Manager is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Tea and Coffee facilities in the room would be nice.
Location: The hotel is about a ten minute walk away from the nearest vaporetta stop and over three bridges. There are some reasonable good restaurants nearby.
Have just had three nights in this hotel - the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfasts were good.

Excellent hotel with extremely helpful staff.

The only disappointment with this hotel was the lack of tea / coffee facilities in the room. Otherwise ideally located, clean , comfortable and friendly. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a great city

Posted 07-Oct-2014
Pros: Perhaps more of a range at breakfast - wider range ocookr cereals and cooked elements such as sausages, etc.
Location: Fantastic restaurants in the parrallel road behind us on Misericordia Street (probably spelt this wrong!). 20-30 mins walk to the major landmarks.
Stayed for 3 nights and was immediately made to feel welcome by the staff. They were very helpful and were always on hand to show you this or recommend you that. The room was large, light and airy and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I might have changed is to have mosquito proof net windows as I got bitten a fair few times! Overall great though.

Lovely hotel, conveniently located, friendly staff

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Pros: Loved the decor, the friendly staff, the breakfast, the modern and clean bathrooms, and the comfortable bed.
Cons: Soundproofing between bedrooms could be better. Emailing a map or directions to the hotel from the train station or vaparetto stop would help a lot!
Location: Great restaurants nearby (one right across the bridge) and very close to shopping and public transportation.
The hotel staff was very helpful, from restaurant recommendations to accommodating us with breakfast when we had a very early start. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hotel is beautiful and the room was large and well appointed. There was no problem about keeping our luggage until the room was ready at the appointed time, allowing us to go out and tour Venice with no worries.

5th century palace with modern conveniences

Posted 21-Sep-2014
The old palace is on a side canal with a nice entrance and very helpful staff. They went out of their way to accommodate us. There was WiFi in the room which was a very modern remodeled suite with a garden view, it was quiet and peaceful. The only disadvantage was the lack of an elevator, but the lobby receptionist helped us carry our bags upstairs. Breakfast was very nice, I asked for glutenfree bread and they did have some crackers and glutenfree small rolls. It was a breakfast Buffett and very plentiful. The bathroom was modern with a shower. We would return to this hotel.

Nice hotel, back check-out

Posted 20-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, decor
Cons: Accurate check out! Bigger bathrooms and a coffee/tea service in the room.
Location: Located in the Cannaregio district. Quiet neighborhood with excellent restaurants nearby. Easy to walk to major sites or catch public transportation.
The hotel is a renovated palace. Stayed in a Junior Suite, garden view. Room size adequate (20 foot high ceilings), very small bathroom and tiny shower (no tub). Room decorated in classic Venetian style and was consistently cleaned. Wi-Fi and breakfast included. Breakfast had variety, but the scrambled eggs were from powder. Close enough to the public transportation for everyday use, but a bit far for coming to and from the airport. For the most part, the staff was excellent. Great service, dinner recommendations, and directions. Helpful in obtaining taxi for an early morning airport trip. However, check out was a nightmare. Was charged for missing mini bar item and was treating very rudely by the lady checking us out. Politely told her we did not take anything from the mini bar, but she insisted we did and kept saying "Its only 4 Euros". Let her know we would have no problem paying if we had taken the item (which she could not tell us what it was), which she then kept saying ("I guess you don't want to pay for it"). Then she told us she was going to get in trouble for not collecting the money and probably fined. She delayed us to the point of being in danger of the taxi leaving. Paid her just so we could leave and will write management about this. Left with an unpleasant last impression.

Nice hotel in a quiet and safe location

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: Good location, clean rooms and friendly staff. Quiet location.
Cons: Unfortunately because of the age of the building there is no lift, but a stair lift is available if needed.
Location: Good quiet location, plenty of good restaurants nearby where you can avoid the crowds and have a reasonably priced meal
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in mid September. The rooms were clean and of a reasonable size and as it is in a quiet location there was no noise at night. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. We were within walking distance of several vaporetta stops which made travel around the city and out to the islands easy. Would definitely stay there again
