Very good hotel at a pleasant neighborhood

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Rarely you find a hotel in Europe with such a wonderful staff. Tilly and his staff are always striving to please and help. The neighborhood of Canareggio is as authentic Venetian as it gets. If I ever visit Venezia again would definitely stay there.

Check in was fine until we were taken to our room, it was small with damage to the wall and noisey from the next room. After complaining we changed rooms which was better but the aircon didn't work properly and just moved warm air around. The staff were all helpful but the hotel is definately not a 4 star as advertised.

Was ok

Posted 17-Jun-2015
I stayed in single room, it looked to me like a Basement room or prison with a small window. Room was so tiny and it was difficult to walk around the bed. Staff were good and helpful.

Upon check-in we were told we owed additional fees for a third person when I had actually paid for it in advance. The first desk clerk didn't seem to want to look into it but it was kinda late. They did resolve for us.

Great location, walls a bit thin

Posted 10-Jun-2015
Pros: The staff were fantastic, really helpful and full of advice of things to do and ways to get around.
The hotel is located fantastically. About 10 minutes from everything you would want and near the Jewish quarter for fantastic food in the evenings. If anything, we stayed in a budget room and the walls are a bit thin but as we had taken ear plugs anyway, this didn't cause a problem however it did for the Americans in the room next to us who checked out early,

What a wonderful stay!

Posted 06-Jun-2015
Pros: The decorations, marble flooring and staff.
Cons: Handrails on the staircase and handicap rooms.
Location: If you are into art, art history, museums, absolutely stunning architecture, architecture, gondolas, canals, and a romantic setting, then this is it!
We arrived expecting a room decorated in the old Venenitian Style. We wound up with a modern room, the only con side of our stay. Staff informed us we should have specified and if the rooms were not booked, we could have stayed in another room to our liking. Overall, the staff and manager were there to assist us in any way possible, ensuring we had a comfortable stay. I would definitely say there again.

Gemütliches Hotel in toller zentraler Lage

Posted 28-May-2015

Great hotel central once we found the location.

Posted 27-May-2015
Pros: The location and the overall décor.
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Busy with bars and shops nearby.
Breakfast could be improved upon, in particular the toaster that actually toasts the bread. On the third day of our stay the toilet would not flush we reported this to the receptionist about 9.30 am, he said he would look at it , we then went out for the day. Upon our return the receptionist said the toilet was fixed, but it still would not flush. Two bottles of water had been left in the toilet for I presume to pour into the toilet bowl when we used it! As this was not acceptable we reported the matter again, the receptionist said he could not get anyone to repair the toilet since it was the weekend. However we were offered the disabled toilet at the end of the corridor. As this happened on the Saturday and we left on the Sunday we made no further comment. However we couldn't believe that there was no maintenance operative on call to deal with such unexpected problems.

Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast
Location: A lot of nice local restaurants nearby, 15 min walk to St. Marco square
When we arrived, we were put in a different room to what was initially booked because our room was still occupied by a lady who broke her leg walking out from the hotel. That room was really horrible - no air cond, small tiny window, unbelievably hot. Next day we got moved to our room which was okay I guess. The breakfast was also all right, not amazing. When we asked a receptionist to print our our flight tickets he said that it's going to cost us 1£ per page! Would never say that it was 4 stars hotel. Will stay in a different one next time I come to Venice.
