This hotel seems to have mixed reviews so we were nervous but we absolutely loved our stay here! Small room but enough space (and we were barely in the room anyway!), super clean and brand new shower/bathroom. Very walkable to all the spots you'd want to see in Venice. We had an early train to our next destination, and they even booked us a taxi! 10/10.

It was an interesting property. Staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was enough to begin the day. The room had street noise which was ok and expected . Only downside was it was very cold and rainy one night (45 degrees) and they couldn’t turn the heat on in April.

The staff of the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, both at the reception, at the breakfast, and the cleaning team. The hotel has an excellent location close to different sites. Excellent value for the price!

This is a beautiful, small hotel in a great location. Our room was lovely and big enough to accommodate three of us. The bathroom is a little tight, but completely updated. The breakfast provided had ample choices and the staff was wonderful!. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast could have been better. For a female solo traveler this place couldn’t have been safer and so close to all the attractions and shops with lots of choices for food !! I lived it. If I come back to Venice again I would definitely rebook!

After reading other reviews I had specifically asked not to be placed on the ground floor since the room would be next to the reception desk. Of all their rooms - they gave us that one. Room and amenities were not worth the price of the hotel. We would not stay here again.

Main issue here were bedbugs that left everyone with multiple bites. Heat/AC was not working properly either. Convenient area to stay in but cannot leave a positive review with children having bites all over.

Beautiful hotel with exquisite attention to all its details. We spent 3 unforgettable nights, the customer service was very good and the breakfast was very complete and necessary to start the day. Historic hotel, excellent breakfast and a very friendly staff. The location is excellent for what we were looking for, which is to be walkable to the main San Marco square but not be right by it so we can experience other corners of the town. Quiets down well after the day trippers leave the island for a pleasant walk around.

As a family, we loved our stay at this hotel. The room was ideal, staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was perfecrly adequate, with a nice view out to a square. It was in the heart of venice, on a canal side.

Amazing hotel for a 3 star!
After reading previous reviews i had high hopes and glad to say I wasn’t disappointed. The location is fantastic for sightseeing, restaurants & shopping. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful from the front staff to housekeeping. No lift & we had 2 flight of stairs to our room. Breakfast was lovely (continental) enough to get a start to the day a small gluten free selection. If your arriving late at night a reminder that when Google maps tells you that you’ve arrived, you have, the large wooden doors will be closed & in the dark the hotel sign isn’t very visible but call the number & someone will let you in.

Close to all the action, many great restaurants around. Staff were outstanding - very peofessional and helpful. Room temperature was comfortable though I didn't see a way to control it. Its an old building - the narrow stairs are tricky to navigate amd there were areas (bathroom) where a person over 6 ft would need to watch out. Good breakfast

The hotel had great character, the breakfast was great, staff were helpful and friendly. It was fairly centrally located, but despite the action going on outside, our room was very quiet and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Water taxi took us right to the front of the hotel. Lovely area with an old Venice flavor. I highly recommend this hotel. It is a hundreds year old villa of a former Duke.

When visiting Venice you must understand that historic hotels on the island usually do not have elevators and the rooms a small. This is the case with Antico Doge. Wonderful staff. Super location. Great breakfast. Small room and no elevator were the only negatives.

Great but problem
The location and staff are great. Water taxi from cruise boat terminal goes to hotel front door. Return to airport should also be taxi for there are too many bridges for roller bag walk. The problem is the bathroom design. No electric outlets and a shower designed to spray the slick tile floor.

Excellent for the price.
On the whole, I would recommend staying here. For a fraction of the price of a chain like Westin, it was fine. Nice to stay in a smaller hotel. We got right to the door in a water taxi which was fun.

The property is in a convenient spot to walk around Venice. Very close to the Rialto Bridge. It was a little bit of a walk up and down some steps and bridges to get here with luggage, from the water taxi from airport. Getting to the water taxi that takes you to the train station upon leaving was much closer. Hotel itself is beautifully maintained, room had a low ceiling but was very clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast spread was plentiful and coffee was really good here, served fresh, in a very pretty room overlooking the square. Very close to many good restaurants, shopping, getting around overall. Staff is friendly and very helpful, will call to make a restaurant reservation for you, if needed. Would definitely stay here again.
