“Personnel leave a little to be desired”
The dining room was also short staffed for breakfast so either tables weren't clean and there was no place to sit or the coffee machine was broken and you had to wait until you could find a staff member to give you breakfast. The staff at the concierge desk were clueless. One sent us to a ferry boat to go to the airport where we would have waited for an hour if we listened to her. Another sent us to a hotel where the average meal was $150/person,. I emailed ahead to find out directions from the ferry boat and instructions were sent to me in Italian. I was very disappointed in this hotel!
“Lovely!”
A good location, quiet, very friendly and helpful staff, good internet connection...these are some of the pluses. Can't think of any minuses, frankly. Well, perhaps a bit more variety for breakfast. That's all.
“Clean and friendly”
Nice little hotel in a convenient location in Dorsoduro, away from the crowds. Room was small but nicely decorated and very clean with a modern bathroom. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
“Great small hotel”
Great hotel in a quiet neibourhood but with easy access(about 5 min walk) to 2 vaporetto stops(Accademia and Zattere). Several good, moderate priced(for Venice) restuarants within a 10 minute walk. Room size was good for European hotel and was decorated in a Venetian style. Beds were comfortable and the room clean. Buffet style breakfast was good, consisting of 3 choices of serial as well as fruit salad, yoghourt, toast, croissants, cheese, cold cuts. All staff we met on the front desk were very helpful. Upon arrival my wife discovered she had left her purse on the airport water bus. The front desk called around and located it for us. Will definitely stay there again on our next visit.
“Decent hotel in a good area.”
The hotel was in a good location to most of the attractions in Venice. The rooms are small and old, but decent.
“Essence of Venice”
Well... how does one describe Venice translated into a hotel room? Tapestry covered walls, wall to wall carpeting, bejewelled mirrors, century furnishings... all in a room that is ten by six. The view consisted of a wall and a patio that we were not allowed to sit on and consume own beverages and food "according to Italian laws". It was unfortunate that we did not get a better room or even one with a balcony like the others we saw. We did ask to change but communication on how this would proceed was quite unclear and in the end, not an option as we did not follow through based on what the concierge said. That all said, we did not come to Venice to stay in our room. It is the most beautiful and peaceful place and the hotel is in an excellent location with access to the vaporeto and bridges taking to you into all the main areas.
“Convenient but quiet, ideal location”
Charming "old style" rooms (only a few with canal views) with well-renovated bathrooms. Clean and well-decorated corridors and interiors. The Guggenheim and the Accademia are very short walks away, as is a vaporetto station. Staff quite helpful. Serve-yourself continental breakfast quite plain and lacking in variety.
“Great location and charming hotel”
Located on a lovely quiet canal just steps from all the main sightseeing locations. Very friendly service. Would definitely return!
“Very nice room away from the noisy area”
The hotel has what the "old" and "new" buildings, we stayed at the NEW portion because I was affraid that OLD could mean smelly or ugly. Hotel looked very nice and its located a little bit away from all the crazyness. I haven't seen the old part, people say is more classic and maybe more romantic, but I LOVED my room in the new area. Very spacious, clean, everything working fine.
“Would return if in Venice.”
This hotel was a little out of the way but once we figured out where it was on the map, we had no trouble finding the hotel. It was very nice with your own secluded garden.

Dorsoduro, Venice, Italy: Dorsoduro is home to the great art institutions of the Gallerie dell'Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the landmark church of Santa Maria della Salute. However those who take the time to explore the area, and particularly the eastern section, will find some of Venices most picturesque squares and alleys. The area also benefits from the influence of the university with some lively bars and nightlife (rare in Venice).
