“Charming and convenient in Venice”

This is a delightful hotel tucked away in a courtyard between Rialto and St Mark's Square. A little challenging to find, it pays dividends on arrival where the welcome is warm and the service friendly and helpful. Comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast complement the overall charm, and an internet is available to guests. Overall, the Al Codega can be recommended without hesitation.

“Perfect”

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location 5 minutes walk from Rialto Bridge. The staff were friendly & extremely helpful. Breakfast was plentiful & tasty. Couldn't fault it & wouldn't hesitate to book same hotel if we ever return to Venice.

Area recommendations
Rialto Bridge is a good central location for walking around the city & seeing all the main tourist attractions.

“Nice hotel...thin walls”

The hotel staff was very kind and the hotel is very well located, clean and nice. One of the reasons of the relatively convenient price is that rooms are tiny and the walls are very thin so I could hear the person next door snoring.

“Hotel Al Codega, Venice”

The Hotel is in a wonderful location between the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco, so is easy to find if you get lost (which you will do). The rooms are newly renovated to a very high standard - a tasteful traditional Venetian theme, but with modern fittings. The bed was very comfortable. Staff at the Hotel Al Codega are amazing - they helped me track down some very obscure shops and were highly knowledgable about the area and the sights, restaurants, etc. Good maps and info were provided, as well as free Wifi. Breakfast was also very nice with barista coffee and a large range of continental and american food. We stayed four nights and were a bit sad when it came time to leave. Would love to go back and would definately stay in the same hotel again.

Area recommendations
Stay somewhere near Piazza San Marco (Saint Marks Square), the Rialto Bridge, or the Train Station, because these are the main points of Venice which are signposted. Without these signs (or a GPS unit) getting around Venice can be very confusing and you will get lost...landmarks are useful.
Dining
Ask the hotel for restaurant recommendations and you'll get to the good places - local food is excellent (codfish and other seafood). There are a lot of American Bars and cheap pizzerias which we found to be very average, but the takeaway pizza slices are excellent. Unfortunately the standard of food and coffee varies wildly in Venice so shop around, look for where the locals appear to eat/drink.

“Fantastic Service and Excellent Location”

Me and my wife went on our "second honeymoon" to Venice and stayed in this very good hotel. This is conveniently located with easy access but is in a quiet area so you don't feel the hubbub of the tourists. Very good and friendly staff and excellent breakfast . Would highly recommend and book there again

“Quite Lovely”

The hotel was in a lovely courtyard, very quiet. Staff were very polite and attentive and friendly, always willing to help and give advice. All spoke very good English. The room was excellent and breakfast plentiful, varied and delicious. It was difficult to find, but a google search before hand meant we found it with only a bit of difficulty.

“Great Hotel in a Great Location”

Extremely well-situation (though a bit difficult to find - typical in Venice), this hotel is comfortable, clean and provides great service. The breakfast buffet included is very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

“Excellent Hotel”

Great hotel - very friendly staff - good location - would definitely use this hotel again

Getting around
We found we could walk to most of the places we wanted to see - it was great just wandering and coming apon nice little cafes or amazing old churches - never knew what we would find around the next corner

“Very surprised at the comfort of the room. It was recently remodled. Desk personnel great.”

Great location - once you find it. The front desk personnel were extremely helpful in helping us get the most out our our first stay in Venice. Would definitely return to this hotel.
