“Excellent choice!”

Hotel definately not a typical european 4 star. The room (albeit a family room) was very spacious, the decor was beautiful. The entire hotel is kept to a very high standard. The breakfast buffet was plentiful. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it was beautiful. 5 mons walk to the vaperetto and 2 mins walk to restaurants and shopping.

“Excellent Find”

This hotel is in a good location, not far from the train station and on the main island. It's in a quiet area so it's not busy but an easy walk into town and about 30 mins to San Marco. It's also close to the Vaparetto (water buses) if you chose to use them although we found them to be fairly expensive when you can easily walk everywhere (except the other islands!) The room itself was very smart and included a chaise longe and the fabric lined walls meant it was very quiet too. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful (they definitely appreciate it if you try to speak a little Italian) and they offered to recommend some restaurants to us. The only part of the hotel we weren't impressed by was the prices in the bar but with so many other bars around there is no need to stay here to drink.

“Out of the hustle and bustle but very worth the walk.”

The closest water bus stop is "Madonna D'orto"; from there the hotel is only a few blocks. It was a little difficult to find through the crazy streets, but had several 'markers' to help us find our way back after a day of exploring. The rooms were clean and well stocked with a mini bar, TV, safe, and large closets w/ mirrored doors. The bathroom was very much on the small side, which was fine for me (I'm only 5'3") but my 6' tall husband had sort of a hard time maneuvering around. Despite it's size, the bathroom was very clean and looked newly remodeled. The free breakfast offered every morning was quite sufficient. Fresh fruit salads, croissants, cereals, cheeses, meats, juice and a single cup coffee maker that offered everything from a single espresso to lattes. They also offered items from a 'hot' breakfast menu for extra Euro, though we didn't sample. It was also nice that the breakfast hours were until 1030; it gave us more option to sleep in a bit. The hotel was quiet and has pretty interior/exterior but the walls are paper thin. Staff was very friendly! We got 'hellos' and 'goodbyes' galore from everyone at the front desk to the housekeeping. The hotel also offers great discounts on tours and sites. We set up our Gondola ride for 25Euros, however, keep in mind you won't be the only person in the boat at that price.

“Quiet, clean and very welcoming”

This hotel was extraordinarily good value. The whole place was spotless and fresh, the breakfast ample and the staff delightful. We were lucky enough to have a room with a large terrace allowing us to watch Venice go by during Siesta time! The one thing that could have been added was a kettle in the room. We'd go back there like a shot!

“Ideal Venice base”

My son and I stayed here for a week in August. The staff were very helpful, although only when asked specific questions. Our rooms were immaculate and spotless. Because the hotel has only recently been refurbished, all the fittings were modern and clean. The rooms and communal areas were all climate controlled; you could adjust your room temperature by thermostat. Also it meant you could keep out the mosquitos by keeping the windows closed. This was very welcome after a hot ramble round the cobbled streets. Maid service was excellent. The turn down service even left a weather forecast card for the next day! The breakfast bar was full of delicious pastries, sliced meats, cheeses, cereals and fresh fruit salad etc. The waiter service was quick and polite so you could get out and make the most of your day. The hotel was not on a waterbus route, but it was only a short stroll to the waterbus jetty at Modonna della Orta where you could get a bus to most places along the main canals. We recommend the 72 hours bus passes which even cover island trips. Youngsters aged up to 29 yrs can get a reduction. Ask at Tourist office. You can also reach the hotel very easily by catching the Alilaguna waterbus from Marco Polo Airport to Modonna della Orta via Murano Island. Then a 5-10 minute walk. If we return to Venice I would rebook this hotel.

“Will certainly use again”

My husband and I stayed here in July 2006. The staff were very helpful and the location is great - far enough from the centre to be quiet but within easy reach of waterbus stops. Very convenient for visiting Murano. Our room was small, but clean, comfortable and air conditioned.

“Enjoyed by all of us”

As a base for our first visit to Venice this hotel could not be bettered. Easily accessible by waterbus and a short walk to the 'tourist' areas and with reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Excellent, well sized rooms with pleasant and helpful staff. What more could you ask - a good breakfast? That's available as well
