“Close to Trainsation”

“Exceptionally good.”

For the price of the room Hotel Abbazia is an exceptional value. Although the room was small by American standards it was modernly appointed and clean. The hotel's lounge was quite spacious and comfortable. It also provides a nice place for an evening drink at the bar. In the mornings the Abbazia provides a very healthful and ample breakfast setting which is included in the room price. The was staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Located near the Grand Canal and train station makes makes sightseeing very easy as well as for entering/exiting the city.

If possible see it all!
When to go
Definitely stay at the Hotel Abbazia when in Venice.

“Lovely hotel”

Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was small but very clean and quiet. Good choice at breakfast. Lovely bar area. Hotel had lots of character. Area quite pleasant - lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Hotel staff recommended a couple of restaurants which were not too 'touristy'. Would certainly stay in this hotel again.

Getting there
Easy to reach from airport. Bus goes direct from airport to Piazzale Roma and costs five euros. Then walk across bridge (some steps involved), past railway station and church. Hotel tucked away along an alleyway. Takes ten minutes to walk there from bus station.

“Can I go back next week?”

We had a wonderful time at the Abbazia. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and were very patient with my basic Italian, they all spoke good English but they let me try my Italian out. The position is ideal for arriving into Venice and is close to the Railway station and a Vaporetto stop for exploring out of Venice or getting to the main areas of Venice. The breakfasts offered just about everything bar a full English breakfast and were a filling start to a day wandering around the sites. The room we had was large and kept spotless by the cleaning staff. The surrounding area has lots of restaurants, shops and a post office. At the bottom of the Calle is a cash machine. I can't recommend the hotel highly enough, would/will go back again in a moment.

Area recommendations
I'd recommend exploring Canneregio. it's quiet and you'll see very few tourists. If you want to get afeel for what living in Venice might be like have a wander around.

“Well woth the stay!”

Having previously stayed in a 4* Hotel, we were very pleasantly surprised by the decor and ambience of the Hotel Abbazia. It represented very good value by Venice standards, The staff were extremely helpful and courteous from arrival to departure, Our superior room was spacious, more so than other hotels we have stayed at in Venice. Breakfast was plentiful and made a good start to each day. The location of the hotel meant it was just a short walk from Piazzle de Roma and the local sopping experience and restaurants were literally just around the corner. All in all, a really comfortable stay and we will definitely return to the same hotel.

Area recommendations
Venice remains as magical as ever each time we visit. Fourth time now, All of the islands are well worth a trip.

“Very Close to Acropolis”

Athens public transportation was on strike. Hotel was accomidating at getting transportation, though very pricey. Nice Breakfast included made for a good start to the day. The room was a room, bed very stiff though after traveling through Europe seems to be a theme.

“Good hotel, good location”

The hotel was good. The location suited us, it was close to the train and bus stations but still on the Grand Canal. The staff at reception were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Was useful to be able to leave our luggage securely at the hotel both when we arrived too early for our room to be ready and when we had to check out several hours before our flight. The air conditioning in the room could have been better and it would have been nice if there was someone to get some refreshments during the day, but overall we had a really good stay.

Getting there
There is a good cheap bus service between the airport and Piazzale Roma which seems not to be very well advertised but is by far the cheapest route.
