Great hotel easy to get to

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Hotel was very easy to get to and from car park tronchetto. Hiltons complementary water taxi to st maros square was very convient. The pool has one of the best views in Venice and on a nice day is paradise! The only down side is extras- wifi in your room costs 20€ and a beer by the pool costs 8€ so is very expensive if you choose to eat and drink there. Over all a wonderful hotel with a wide range of facilaties

Honeymoon at best hotel in Venice!

Posted 18-Aug-2014
This hotel is fantastic! It really is! The views of Venice are incredible! Can't understand some of the comments here about the shuttle! It's a FREE service and we didn't have any problems at the height if summer! If you miss it you want 20mins or pay 7euros for the vaporetto easy! One nice 6 of us couldn't get on so we got a water taxi (10e each) which was one of the best-most James Bond experiences of my life! The pool is fab, drinks are a bit expensive! Food in the restaurants is fantastic and Giuseppe at Bacarom is a real treat! The bar staff downstairs are so friendly and the caprese salad is the best I have ever had! Wish I could have stayed longer!

Great Location with free transport

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, Pool, Shuttle bus, rooms style, views, building
Cons: In room food drink poor , no biscuits, little milk and not always replenished. We booked 3 rooms in different areas and this applied to all.
Location: Zattire beautiful with great eateries ,Peggy Gugenheim museum hidden gem. St Marks square just up the coast and fish markets inland by Rialto bridge
Wonderful restored building with rooftop pool and 365 degree views for miles. Best thing is the free shuttle bus to Zattaire ( best town in Venice) and Saint Marks square the most popular tourist spot. Hotel is on a pretty but quiet island with views over Venice and unlimited free boat trips make for less walking and you only need to pay to go to airport/station or outlying islands. Great if you want easy access to St Marks without being stuck with crowds/tacky shops/high prices 24/7. We stayed 3 days and used the boat loads. Tea/Coffee was in erratic supply, staff where very variable. Hotel bar/food/wifi prices were expected high Hilton levels but eating out is easy and less expensive than expected. Island supermaket and bakery both very nice and reasonable. Public area wifi reached most of 1st and second floor and all rooms are stunning and luxurious with glass chandeliers and lots of marble . Venice is so beautiful just walking it's streets is a wonder.

40th Birthday at the Molino Stucky

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Great location, building and exceptionally friendly and professional staff. Like most city break locations, a 5* is really more like a 4* but hotel standards were high throughout and a welcome birthday cake and note from the manager were appreciated touches. Only minor quibbles were that the complimentary shuttle service either needs to run more frequently or use boats with a higher seating capacity and there wasn't much room-wise to show where the benefits of upgrading were in terms of space and facilities etc. Location of the hotel and the island of Giudecca were fantastic though and forms a perfect base from which to explore the stunning city of Venice.

Nice hotel shame about the room size being small

Posted 14-Aug-2014
Staff not very friendly for a 5 star hotel. Room size too small for their top king executive room. I've stayed in many 5 stars hotel around the would and this hilton being the worst. It's a shame.

Good hotel in a lovely position in Venice

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Cons: A small gripe but only given one milk each per 24 hour period (part of the tea/coffee in room). When asked for more they delivered it within 20 mins.
Location: very quiet location this small island has 4 other restaurantts and a promenade but no shops etc. so not busy or crowded
Lovely to get away from the hoards of tourist. Free shuttle boat excellent with a good timetable - but watch out for the breaks, can leave you stranded for a couple of hours. Hotel breakfast very expensive for what is on offer if it is not included in your package. The swimming pool in very small - picture in advert gives the wrong impression very little seating area. Only 2 small restaurants for a hotel of this size, but the free shuttle boat compensates for this. However, would definitely stay here again nice room with plenty of space , efficient and friendly staff - good to come back to after a hectic day in Venice.

Highly original building with a fantastic view

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: Imaginatively converted from former industrial buildings, it is pleasingly different. The rooftop pool has a fantastic view across the city.
Cons: It is extraordinary that WiFi is not free in the rooms, especially since it is free in public areas.
Location: The principal sights of central Venice are easily and quickly accessible either by the hotel's own free shuttle service or by public transport.
We already knew Venice well from previous trips and wanted to stay somewhere away from the throng of visitors. La Giudecca is pleasantly removed but easily accessible, and the Molino Stucky was a revelation. Sensitively and imaginatively converted a few years ago from former industrial buildings, it has a great deal more character than the standard international luxury hotel one might expect from the Hilton chain but without compromising on the quality of service, accommodation or facilities.

Wow!

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: Swimming pool, the breakfast and the room.
Cons: It is a large hotel so there is a trek to get to different parts.
We had a junior suit for our family. This meant a room for us and a room for the kids. The veiw from the swimming pool area was stunning but no veiw to speak of from the room. The free shuttle boat was great but can only take 40 people so you had to get there a bit early to be the front of the queue to make sure you got on at the busier times. It's also a good idea to print out the timetable from their website before you arrive. Amazing breakfast -Very busy over a number of rooms as it is such a large hotel. There are places to sit outside to watch the cruise liners being tugged by and the vast yatchs moored but the only inside windows looking out are in the executive lounge, which we had access to. Happy hour in the executive lounge is from 5-7pm and there are complimentary snacks and drinks which were lovely. We decided to stroll down the canal and not bother with the ferry to main Venice. There were many little restaurants with tables outside. We eventually stopped and had dinner watching the colour changes over the city at dusk - truly breathtaking. Only downside is my son has decided from now on he only wants to stay in 5 star hotels.

Disappointing

Posted 10-Aug-2014
We checked in to the hotel only to find that our room smelled of cigarette smoke. And we asked for a non-smoking room. It took the front desk much deliberation to assign a new room which they finally did after about an hour. The new room had very poor air-conditioning and the front desk said they would not reduce the room temperature below 24C and after repeated requests they would lower it down to 21C. We stayed in hotels 1/3 of the price of what we payed at hilton and they would reduce the room temperature to as low as 16C to 18C considering how hot italy is during the summer with temperatures in excess of 30C. The saturday late night party music was extremely annoying and went all the way till 2AM. You are better off staying at a hotel half as small and half as expensive and your money would go a long way. Would never stay here again. What a waste of money!!!
