“Will return again”

Hotel is in excelent condition following complete remodeling. Was upgraded to superior double room. Overall staff was accomodating however front desk woman was quite snobish although eventually helpful. Breakfast not very impressive considering the overall splender of the hotel. Only several rooms in the front of the hotel have "true" views of the canal. Side rooms are only a glance toward the Grand Canal. The terrace is quite nice and not very busy, it was a wonderful way to finish the evening and watch the sun set.

Area recommendations
This area is quite nice particularly during the busy summer months as it is reasonably quite.

“Beautiful Hotel”

This was a beautiful hotel my wife & i loved it very much. The location was great, the room was nice & big plus it was in a excellent location right off of the Grand Canal. The breakfast was fantastic! The service was ok. Overall I would give this hotel a A

“so central, near everthing”

Ferry to cross Grande Canel just outside the hotel, location is just so central that nothing is to far away. For some reason we were allocated the disabled room so didn't get the jacuzzi bath, also we booked a double room, but got two single beds (but they were large), room was adequate, and we had two small balcony's for the room which was nice. Staff very friendly, helpful, all spoke english. Breakfast plentiful.

Area recommendations
This hotel location is possibly the best for the island.
Getting there
If you are using water buses from/to the airport be aware that some of them only run every hour, and sometimes they do get full before everyone is on board! Once there nothing is ever too far to walk too.

“Would highly recommend”

Excellent hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. The room was excellent and had great view over the Grnad Canal. Well located for the Rialto and other locations. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation.

“Will definitely return”

Foscari Palace staff were very helpfull at all times, whenever a problem arose, advice or information was required. The hotel was very pleasant and quiet, rooms clean and the breakfast excellent. Fully recommend this hotel, as much for the service as well as the position in Venice, 10 - 15 minutes walk from all the key attractions.

Traveller's tip
Don't use the Shuttle Water Taxi service, we found it very unreliable, 2 hours stuck at Marco Polo Airport coming in to the hotel then 1 hour 20 mins stuck waiting to be taken back on our return. Ended up using private water taxi's, which is convenient (will pick you up from your hotel if required) but very expensive. Alternative is Vaporetto's, which are cheap and reliable but very crowded and you do have to walk with your luggage to your hotel from the dropping off stop.

“I would recommend this hotel to everyone.”

The Hotel staff were friendly,pleasant and helpful. It was beautifully decorated,clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing - huge selection of food. The location was very good - right next door to a vaporetto stop. Handy to walk to the rialto, 15 minutes walk to St. Marks square just really ideally located for everything. The view from the roof terrace was lovely - you could relax up there at the end of a busy days sightseeing with your glass of Prosecco and just watch the world go by on The Grand Canal below. The whole holiday was just like a dream.

Traveller's tip
Take a comfy pair of shoes, a camera and just wander and soak up the atmosphere of the place.

“Can't wait to go back to venice and will stay at the Foscari Palace again”

Fantastic location on the Grand Canal, wonderful service from everyone there, nothing too much trouble. Great rooms and filling breakfasts. Would highly recommend to anyone - we stayed as a family with a 12 & 16 year old who were completely bowled over by the Foscari Palace and its location. Near everything and a short walk to the Rialto Bridge, 25 min walk to the station and 20 min walk to Piazza San Marco. Beautiful roof terrace with stunning view over the canal. Couldn't ask for more. 10/10

Traveller's tip
Make sure you use the traghetto outside the hotel to cross the canal and go to the Rialto market. Only 50 cents (Aug 09) and a great way to travel like the locals do. Tip - the locals stand and tourists sit on the traghetto (like a gondola but without the heart shaped cushions, gold lions etc.)

“Very good hotel.”

The people of the reception are very kind. The hotel is very near to the train station and has a view to the canal. The rooms are very confortable.

Buy the vaporeto card and go visit around venice. Burano is very pretty.

“Brilliant”

Fantastic choice. Five minutes to Rialto, easy 15-20 mins to St Marks dependant on how many shops you look at. Hotel was lovely, very clean, very helpful. Wonderful choice for breakfast including eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, breads, croissants, pastries, cereals, etc. We had our teenage daughter with us and had a superior twin room with an extra bed in it. Each twin bed was huge, and the put-you-up bed was of good quality. Room a really good size and we had a sideways view of the Grand Canal which was an added bonus! We loved the roof terrace overlooking the Grand Canal - great to have a couple of beers to relax after a hard days sight seeing and before you go out for dinner. Hotel arranged free private water taxi to Murano glass island and free trip around factory - very expensive glass to buy though, but we then walked 5 mins into town and enjoyed wandering around the cheaper shops and stopping for a drink. We bought a 12 hour waterbus pass on another day and did Burano and a couple of other islands all on one day. We splashed out on a private water taxi from the airport which took us right up to the front door of the Hotel (95 Euros) A great way to arrive in Venice with no hassels in finding the hotel.

Traveller's tip
Spend time exploring the other side of the Grand Canal. We found it delightful around the Gugenheim museum - much quieter, and this encouraged us to wander around in the area opposite the hotel too. Stacks more shops to visit and wander around. Use the Tragetto from beside the hotel to cross over. This is a public gondola that runs all day (50 cents each passenger) - good fun and cheaper than a private gondola.
