“Love Venice, not this hotel”

I booked the hotel thinking I would be in the hotel, not across the way in a residence apt. Building. The residence hotel had no front desk. No front anything, just a stairway to the second floor and then an elevator to your floor. So disappointing. I think I overpaid. No, I am sure I overpaid for what I got.

“Great Location, Great Breakfast”

Location of this hotel is perfect. It is 5 mins walk from both the San Marco and the Rialto bridge. Overall quality of the hotel is great. Standard rooms are small, but have all the necessary amenities in them. Breakfast is delicious and hotel staff is very welcoming and helpful. Great hotel for a long weekend stay.

“Excellent location for San Marco”

You couldn't have picked a more convenient location on San Marco Island. Mid-point between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. Easy walking distance to museums, shops, restaurants, etc. For a hotel located in a 17th centuty building I thought the room was adequate...not very large, but nothing is in Venice. Breakfast on the terrace each morning was great and with a view of the canal.

“Prime location.”

The hotel is in an ideal position about a five minute walk from Piazza San Marco. Clean and comfortable double room but not spacious. Sumptuous buffet choice at breakfast plus egg and bacon and scrambled eggs. No view to speak of from the room window; just another apartment block across a typical narrow Venetian alley. Check-in staffs were polite and helpful. The hotels own online location map is insufficiently detailed for finding the hotel quickly. Venice is a warren and you need a map with every walkway clearly labelled. I recommend the ‘AA City Map and Mini Guide for Venice’ available on Amazon. It is essential when exploring Venice in general.

“Just wanted what I paid for!”

We reserved a superior double and they put us into the smallest room I have ever experienced in all my world travel. You could not even walk around 3 sides of the bed and the bath was even worse. Then I had to pay extra for an upgrade to an acceptable room. Front desk service was not very willing to help.

“Great hotel close to everything”

Hotel is very nice, room was comfortable. Beds were very comfortable, hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was best we had in all of Europe, and it was included. Hotel is in a perfect location.

“FANTASTIC”

This hotel was easy to get to from the Renalto Bridge stop on the boat. Has great curb appeal one of the best in the city. Front desk was helpful and we were able to store our bags on arrival and departure with no problem. Breakfast was included in their beautiful dining room complete with egg chef. The rooms were lovely and the bed comfortable. I highly recommend this place best bang for my buck the entire trip!

“Nice choice in Venice”

This hotel is halfway between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge - so you are not too close to crowds, but right in the middle of the center of Venice's most attractive areas. The price matches the quality and the location.

Area recommendations

San Marco and San Polo neighborhoods are the most interesting - but everything in Venice is fabulous.

“First Class - reasonable price”

I've stayed in other hotels in Venice - this one is far and away the best deal there. This is run like a four star hotel in a 5 star location. By Venice standards the room size was fine - the bathroom really well equipped even down to guest slippers and first rate. The complimentary breakfast is about as good as you will find in Venice as well. My only question was why is it so cheap? Some guests complained about a smell in the bathrooms - it's very faint and it comes from the way the way the drain bidets us hooked up with no trap. It certainly is a non-issue to me.
