“The location is excellent, right across from Mestre train station.”

However, there isn't much to do around the area. Nothing scenic to see and no park in the neighbourhood. Our room was really nice, with a sitting area and a fridge. Although the breakfast is supposed to be "continental", it was excellent and the waitresses kept replenshing the food whenever a tray appeared empty. The receptionists were mostly friendly people except for one older guy. He was really short and abrupt with his answers. All in all, we enjoyed our 2-day stay in Venice Best Western.

“Great base for Venice Marathon”

I stayed here for a long weekend when doing the Venice Marathon 2011. Hotel very good although it seemed reasonably priced. The room was very comfortable. As it is facing the Mestre rail station and bus stops it could not be more convenient for transport into Venice taking about 10 minutes. We only used the Bistro when we eat in the Hotel. Choice was limited but the food was ok. Breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice including bacon and eggs as weel as a range of meats, cheeses, breads etc..

Area recommendations

Apart from Venice itself use the waterbusses to visit islands in the lagoon such as Murano and Burano.

We went in September. Weather was cool and bright but I thgink we were lucky.

“Excellent location/value for money”

The Hotel was a very good value way of seeing Venice. Located off the Island but the transport links by train or by Bus were excellent and only took about 15 minutes to get in/out. Bus stop was close to hotel (2 mins) and train just across the road. Buffett breakfast excellent. Rooms modern, large and comfortable

“Good location and breakfast”

A good clean hotel close to the railway station and 10 minutes from Venice The best feature is the well run breakfast buffet

“Economic choice”

Over the road from Mestre railway staion and 10 minute train ride into Venice. Train tickets sold at reception so no queues at ticket office. Friendly helpful staff , good buffet breakfast. At start of shopping street with supermarkets and other everyday type shops with everyday prices. For the price we paid it was extremely good value and so much cheaper than staying on the island. Convenient for transport to airport or cruise terminal. Would definitely stay there again.

“Good, comfortable hotel.”

Some confusion regarding our transfer from the airport, but otherwise can recommend this hotel. Really close to the train station for easy access to Venice. The Bistro bar attached to the hotel was good too.

“Good Location for Train and Airport Access - Just Ask for a Room Not on the Street”

Hotel was directly across the street from the Venice, Mestre train station and easy 8 min train trip into the heart of Venice each way - without the hassle of getting water taxis or hauling luggage down small streets into the heart of Venice. Front desk sold train tickets so no hassle buying them at the train station. Easy 20 min, 5 euro, bus ride directly from airport to train station across the street. Hotel condition was good. GREAT breakfast buffet each morning included in rate. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and nice, though all rooms have hardwood floors, so at times, one can hear chairs being moved and/or /walking from floor above. Our room faced the main street - so a little noisy with traffic - but any room on side or back of building should be quiet.

“The place to stay when visiting Venice”

We stayed in the hotel for 10 nights, and this was the best Hotel choice ever. We have stayed in various hotels in Venice, but this was the best: clean, spacious room, perfect service, convenient locatio to train station (which is across the road) and bus stop to Venice. Next time we are in Venice, we will stay just there!
