“Nice hotel, good rates, a little off the beaten path.”
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June, 2011. Some of the staff did speak English, which was a plus. We arrived early but our room was ready. Our room was very clean but a little cramped and severely lacking cabinet space since we have a habit of over packing for our travels. The free continental breakfast didn't have a big selection but it was equivalent to a holiday inn breakfast here in the states. There is no free wifi but for 1 euro you can have wifi in the lobby for a 24 hour period although you might have difficulty logging in at first, just keep trying to open your browser until you are prompted for username and password. Now I'm guessing that the primary reason why u would stay here is to see Venice. Well, first of all a taxi ride to and from is very expensive so take just a little time to get to know the public transportation system plus that will be part of the adventure. About half a block down u can hop on a bus that will get there in abou 25 min. or so however, some buses stop running in the evening so u will have to be creative getting back. U can take the train to the mestre station then a short bus ride back to the B4. a good investment would be an all inclusive transportation pass u can purchase at the Venice bus depot that would allow to ride the train, bus and ferry system.
“Modern hotel set in out of town area”
The hotel was modern and our room very well cleaned every day. However it is set in a rather undeveloped area of Mestre although there is a shopping mall 5 minutes away in which bus tickets for the half hours ride into Venice can be bought - cheap as chips! Don't buy a water shuttle ticket from the airport as the hotel is 5 miles inland on the mainland so a taxi from the airport is the thing to book. Don't stay here if you want to be in Venice for the nightlife as the direct buses stop at 1900hrs and the taxi fare could be expensive although can't confirm this as we only used the buses, and there wasn't anything to do locally in the evenings.
“Venice outside Venice”
Lovely hotel, nice design, good location outside Venice. A train or bus trip away, quite near the airport. The hotel is located near a small but very convenient shopping mall and restaurants in the area. Not far from the hospital. The only problem we found with the hotel is that the heating is too high. It is 27 degrees everywhere at all times.
“Baby Friendly Hotel”
We traveled with our one year old and the hotel actually provided a pretty decent crib in our room with tons of toys for my toddler to play. The restaurant provided quality food for breakfast. Overall, the hotel is clean and nicely decorated, very contemporary. It's only 30 minutes ride from the hotel to Venice, and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel.
“Not impressed”
We were not overly impressed with the hotel as there were very few staff available to provide a service throughout the days and evenings - for example the bar and restaurant were nearly always unmanned and the reception was regularly unmanned too. When we did locate staff however, they were helpful and friendly. The hotel also had a habit of playing music in the hallways at 7am which carried into the rooms and interrupted our sleep!
“They need staff”
It is a nice hotel but they need staff, specially for the dinning time & Room service.
“great design but POOL is missing”
hotel has reasonable location from Marco Polo airport (by taxi) but not easy to use the public trasport to get from hotel to Venice-especially when staff at the desk is not able exactly to explain. Pool is NOT OPEN and will be not for long time. Good for bussines trip, not for holiday. After ten do not rely on service in restaurant. Great plus was the design. Somehow the design is not matching to expected service.
“New hotel, service is horrible and so is the location”
First, we arrived right before check-in time and no one was at the desk, at the bar, not anywhere. We waited for about 15 minutes before we finally heard someone talking and he told us to wait with the wave of his hand. Next, we were only given 1 key and had to put our one key in a slot on the wall to keep the lights and air conditioner on. Well, we decided to leave the hotel for dinner and accidentally left the key in the slot. Upon our return, we went to the front desk to ask for a 2nd key and was told they were out of keys. My husband complained and we finally got another key (thought they were out?). Then, we tried to go to sleep around midnight but there was a loud noise coming from above us. Around 1am we couldn't handle it anymore and called the front desk and a porter was sent up. He tried to tell us it was the heater (this was in the middle of July) and there was nothing he could do about it. About 30 minutes later the front desk called and offered to move us to a new room. It was close to 2am and we had a taxi coming at 4:30am to take us to the airport. It was either pack up all of our luggage and get an hour or so of sleep or just deal with the noise. We ended up moving to the new room, but at this point we were so upset we had a hard time falling asleep. Overall, this was a nice hotel, but the service was lacking and the location wasn't that great. There was a hardware store and Auchan within walking distance.
“B4 Venezia”
A brand new hotel with quite a few teething problems but great potential and "everything to play for". The staff were extremely helpful and a pleasing hotel design, we enjoyed our stay but the finishing touches still needed to be made to the property. Good luck to them.
“boscolo b4 mestre”
posizione comoda a stazione, hotel recente, pulito, confortevole, buon servizio.
