We booked 2 rooms for 5 days each. Our sheets visibly dirty after the first night were not changed and the floor not swept We called the front desk but at 9pm there was no housekeeping staff on duty. The 2nd night the sheets were still not changed even though we had asked for them to be changed. They had one of the waiters come up, after I requested sheets to change them myself, who changed the sheets. He was a great looking Dutch lad, however, it did not help my irritation. The room didn't have any air conditioning or ventilation so you had to open the windows but with no screens that means mosquitos at night. The night tables had a light but visible layer of dust on them. I took a picture of one of them - same in the kid's room. We had 2 coffee pkgs and when those were used they kept replacing them with coffee whitener (perhaps the housekeepers could read neither Dutch nor English, they spoke with a different accent). Our last night there they did not put a spare toilet paper roll in the bathroom - I usually don't look at that but with all the other issues with the room we were checking everything. I'm hoping they did the next day or I feel sorry for the people to have our room next. I'm thankful we brought our disinfectant wipes and cleaned the room when we first arrived. The breakfast was not worth the 15 euro price, not a lot of selection unless you're into 32 different types of bread.

"Wonderfully large rooms delightfully quirky decor"
The rooms are very generous. We had a small balcony in the sun. Excellent amenities, including sauna, Turkish steam bath and massage on-site. Friendly staff. Quirky decor. Excellent shower. I'd definitely recommend it!

Our decision was purely based on previews and comments and photos left by guest staying at this hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the surroundings and topped by the attention to detail we did look forward to staying here. Staff have been very attentive, room comfortable, but most of all the food and waiter/waitress service superb. If anyone looking for comfort in a quiet surrounding in Holland then you can't go wrong.
A very nice hub to the hotel with friendly staff. The rooms in fairness were a little tired, but they were comfortable and spacious. The grounds were lovely and ideal if you wanted to walk off the breakfast.
