“What a gem!”
What a gem of a hotel! I was pleasantly surprised to find this oasis - beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds including a lovely pool. The staff was knowledgable, accommodating and ensured our stay was perfect.
“beautiful room/garden/pool, expensive breakfast”
The hotel was very attractive; our room opened onto the garden which was very pretty and convenient for taking the cat for a walk on his lead. We ate in the restaurant two of the three nights that we stayed there; we got the least expensive menu and I did not think that it was very special. I also found it annoying to have to pay for an expensive breakfast since I only really want a glass of OJ, a cup of coffee and maybe a croissant. There was no cut fresh fruit only apples and oranges and we had to ask for the ham and cheese since it was not out on the buffet (they did have eggs that you could boil). There was no other option as there was no coffee maker or mini bar in the room (room service continental breakfast is more expensive) and there is no bakery nearby. The pool was beautiful but we were here in February and although it was sunny it was cold and very windy. The service was excellent and if price was no concern I am sure we would have no complaint; these days however more people are watching even their business expenses.
“A chance to discover Villeneuve les Avignons while visiting Avignon.”
Impeccable hotel just outside of Avignon. The layout of the hotel is fun and the rooms are generously large and comfortable. We found the breakfast rate a little steep.
“stay in Villaneuve even if you want to be in Avignon”
Although not in not in the middle of Avignon, this turned out to be an advantage. The property is located in a residential area, quiet, clean air and a beautiful garden to enjoy your breakfast. We spent 12 nights in Italy and France and their breakfast buffet was the most generous. A great find.
“provence travels”
Beautiful facility. Very accomodating at the desk. We loved the garden. Also, immaculate. A little challenging to find but well worth it. A couple restaurants within walking distance would have been nice.
“Elegant”
Our stay at the Hotel Magnaneraie in late October was lovely. The room was spacious, with a terrace overlooking a beautifully kept garden. The amazing off-season rate from Expedia allowed us to stay at this upscale hotel and stay within our midrange budget. Be aware, however of the eighteen euro per person cost for breakfast, which we avoided. The location is in a very quiet neighborhood a ten minute drive from Avignon. On the way to Avignon, you will see the small town of Villenueve les Avignon where coffee and a croissant can be found in the morning (La Cave St Marc was our choice) and also has some nice restaurants for dinner as well.
“Great place to stay near Avignon”

“Very nice setting just outside of town”
Hotel is situated just outside of a small town across the river from the city of Avignon. Location is convenient if you are using a car, but might be slightly inconvenient if you relied on public transportation. The small town is around a 10 minute walk from the hotel where I believe buses are available to the city of Avignon. The hotel is in a suburban setting which was very nice and a good relief from the typical urban hotels, as staying within the old city of Avignon I believe would have been a noisy and hectic place to stay. Very accomodating hotel staff. Beautiful gardens with outdoor dining. To further enhance our stay, we were upgraded at no charge to a suite which was appreciated. I would definitely recommend this location if you have a car which is also a major convenience while traveling around Provence and its many small towns. The location of Avignon is a great starting point to visit the many scenic sites nearby.
