“Elite Stadshotellet Karlstad Sweden”

The building is old and charming. The folks working there were friendly and helpful. The bar has an outside seating area from which you can see the lovely flower bedecked bridge.

Traveller's tip
We walked around the town on a Sunday afternoon and discovered an organ recital was to be held that evening. We attended and enjoyed the church and the music very much.

“Elite_Karlstad_2010”

Wir haben in einem Superior-Zimmer übernachtet. Die Ausstattung ist modern und die Größe des Zimmers war angenehm, möglicherweise ist ein normales Doppelzimmer ziemlich klein. Das Bad ist zu klein und beengt, für die wenigen Tage übersteht man es aber. Pluspunkt ist die Lage des Hotels, idyllisch am Fluss Klarälven und zentral gelegen, zu Fuß vom Bahnhof erreichbar und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Einkaufsmeilen sowie Kneipen und Restaurants in der Nähe.

Area recommendations
Mit dem Mietwagen kann man nach Hammarö bis zum kleinen Örtchen Takene fahren, bis es nicht mehr weiter geht. Dort kann man zu Fuß ca. 800 m bis zur Südspitze von Hammarö durch einen idyllischen Wald bis zum Nordufer des Vänern laufen. In der ländlichen Umgebung von Karlstad kann man die typischen schwedischen Häuser sehen. Es gibt sehr viele Seen.
