“Wow, the front desk staff was awesome”
I just wanted to let everyone know that for the price I paid I got a great deal. This hotel room came with fridge, stove, oven and even a dishwasher. All of the condiments, cookware, dishes and utensils. The place was very clean and the staff was excellent. I will stay here again and would recomend it to others. It is right in the heart of what the locals call Davie Village. A small little neighborhood in the beautilfull city of Vancouver, B.C. only blocks from the ocean, Stanley Park and the downtown shopping area. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed. It is sort of in the artsy part of metro Vancouver.
“Good with the right room”
This is my 2nd stay here. 1st visit was higher up and on the "ocean view" side. Recent visit was lower floor on city site. City side is bad. Although both side faces adjoining businesses and not the street directly the city side faces clubs and parking lots. Ocean side is near the end of the block so much less noise. An ongoing electronic hum came from the HVAC of businesses next door 24hrs a day. Loud enough that I had to leave the noisy room heater on in order to get to sleep at night. If I had been in the room more than just an hour or two before sleep and for the time it takes to wakeup and leave in the morning I would have been driven nuts. I would have asked to change rooms if I'd had the energy to repack my stuff and would have been sure the new room would have been any better. Add to this the general noise of the club in the next building, people yelling and screaming outside the club and the car alarms going over too regularly. Again, only on the city side. On my previous visit on the ocean side there was street noise but none of the clubbing experience. Vancouver is generally not cold but it was down near freezing during my visit. The big sliding door and window are single pane glass and did little to keep the room warm. It was always chilly unless I put on the rattling heater in the bedroom all night - in the morning it would be warm - and very dry. Overall staff was helpful and friendly, room was clean and maintained, location is perfect.
“Surprised by the quality”
Really cool little district. Great Greek Restaurant 'Stepho's' right down the street as well as a Moxi's in the hotel. Lots of other ethnic choices around there as well. Walking distance to most things. Had to take a cab back from BC place, but walked down through Yale Town on our way to the game. Hotel staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
“Central Location”
Stayed for Grey Cup found we could walk almost anywhere without too much effort. City was friendly and safe.
“Cold was the theme”
No insulation on the windows and very little heating in the living room meant that the main sitting area got very cold; although there was a heater in the bedroom, having it run long enough and hot enough to heat the entire suite made the bedroom unbearably hot. Hot water in the shower took at least 15 minutes to actually get hot. We called down to the lobby and were told they could move us but it would do nothing as the building was old and it took a long time for the pipes or water to get hot. No other solution was offered nor was an apology. Nice kitchen, great location but the things listed above definitely detract from the experience.
“Not Implessed”
Hotel staff, not very friendly, and lack customer service
“English Bay, Stanley Park and downtown minutes away.”
The location is the most desirable reason for choosing this hotel. The view from our 15 floor suite looking over the park and ocean was beautiful. The suite is comfortable and clean, quiet and good value. Staff was efficient and helpful. Spa and gym was an extra bonus.
“Best Suites in the West End!”
We had a great time! We couldn't have asked for better lodging for the money! Thanks for making our 19th anniversary something to remember.
“Good But”
Hotel facilities excellent and very convenient for downtown Vancouver. The room cleanliness needs some attention as we saw that very little was dusted and the vacuuming was not thorough. I think more supervision and checking is required. This was a pity as all other aspects of the hotel were good.
“Will be back again”
Love the layout of the rooms, the location, and the whole city in general. We will be back.
