“Great base to explore downtown Vancouver from”

I stayed here 2 nights whilest on my way to Seattle. I nice Hotel - 10 min walk from the nearest metro station. Room was large with 2 big beds. Othere reviewers said it was noise from the nearby freeway - but even though my room overlooked it, it was no problem. Recommended

“Best location for all our needs at a terrific bargain”

Great selection for price and a 'home base' where we could catch the on-off bus for tours, walk the neighborhood for our dining and purchase needs - including the proximity of banks for monetary exchange; good secure parking for vehicle; comfortable beds!

Area recommendations

False Creek is amazing for a jumping off point! Have also stayed in North Vancouver and the use of Seabus is an aid to sightseeing.

Getting around

Hotel is a stop for both trolley and on-off red bus! Many dining and other opportunities are within a small walking distance - including Starbuck's, Tim Horton's, several terrific restaurants like White Spot and La Bodega; money exchange services and banks and even a FedEx! Very easy on-off access from the Granville Bridge as well.

“Average quality hotel”

It is clean, the desk staff were helpful and the location is good, but there are several other hotels with locations as good (or better) that appear to be newer buildings. This hotel doesn't seem to have been redecorated internally since the 1980s (or 1970s). The free Wi-Fi is also awful (connects but operates between slow and completely stopped).

“Cheap and good location”

Fairly basic hotel, no restaurant in the evening during the week, building work starts approx 7am. However, good location in False Creek, with all of downtown Vancouver in walkable distance and cheap!

“Good experience”

Nice stay, clean room, great staff. Construction across the street started early, but not the hotel's fault. Would like to see the restaurant better run, but fine for a drink and to watch a game. Would stay again, great location.

“OK Hotel - not for business if you may need to use their internet”

Nice hotel, but if you will need internet access, look elsewhere. Their free WIFII is avvailable 3 out of every 10 minutes. It cuts out constantly and makes it next to impossible to get real work done. In this day and age, it really is not that difficult or expensive to wire up a hotel. When they specify their free wifi, they should add the caveat that its free "if you can get it". Now lets see if I can save this without having to reconnect. To be fair, if you don't care about WIFI, hotel is in a nice, central location. A little dated, but very clean and the staff seems friendly.

“You get what you pay for”

This is a clean hotel, convenient to Granville Island, Yaletown and Downtown Vancouver. The lobby has recently been renovated and is lovely. The rooms are dated but clean and relatively comfortable. The only real issue with the hotel is the noise from the nearby road. There are also building works opposite the hotel - obviously not something the management can do anything about, but if you are a light sleeper then both these things will keep you awake. Apart from that it's a good value hotel in a very expensive city. We stayed for three nights with a five month old baby.

Area recommendations

We visited several areas of Vancouver on our two week break, and stayed in a hotel in Downtown, with relatives in Yaletown and in a hotel near Granville Island - so we saw most of the central area. Our favourite area, without a doubt, was Granville Island. The public market offers local crafts and goods and is somewhere you can eat and people watch for hours. There's also a lovely local brewery and great kids area. We also liked Gastown, where Momo sushi offers fab value for money, and Brioche on West Cordova is a great Italian cafe. Outside central Vancouver, the Museum of Anthropology is well worth a visit. Other highlights of our trip were Victoria on Vancouver Island (one of the most beautiful ferry trips we've ever been on, and again really good value for money). We also loved the road journey out to Whistler - where we saw not one, but two, black bears! For those on a budget British Columbia is not cheap - but there are ways to travel and eat which don't completely clear out your wallet.

“Good experience”

Location,costumer service and room confort good job. Very close to Grandville island 5 minutes walk to the beach, take sea bus to the market very nice place to start you day .robson street shop and restaurants10 minutes walk from the hotel.
