“A must on your way to Chichen Itzs”
This was our favorite hotel of our Cancun trip. We stayed at a 5 star resort in Playa Del Carmen and when we got home, we both agreed that our time at the El Meson Del Marques was our most enjoyable stay. The gracious hosts, and charm and the courtyard and town, make this a must visit on your way to Chichen Itza, I highly recommend the restuarant., the food is excellent, I had the Valloidid sausage and my husband had the coconut shrimp which is not breaded, but made at your table with huge shrimp and cococut sauce. They also include breakfast. The town is easy to walk around and you get a real sense of what the Mayan life may have been long ago. They have a parking lot in back of the hotel, which is attended too and you must show your ticket to leave, so felt very safe. The hotel used to be someone's mansion in the early days and it still retains the sense that you are entering a home, rather than an hotel. You walk out on the town square, which is quite lovely. Great hotel, and a fun way to see more of the Yucatan Pennisula than just hotel strip of Cancun
