“Charming hotel in Valladolid”
Charming hotel: several small buildings around courtyards and brick driveways. We initially booked one king and one double room for the four of us, which would have been in two different buildings. The extremely helpful staff upgraded us to a king suite with an adjoining double room at no charge.
The rooms are large, very clean, and actually rather glamorous: huge soaking tub, separate and large glass shower. It took quite a while to get hot water in the showers, but once it arrived, it was plentiful. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and in the morning a small procession of horse riders passed our hotel.
Cannot recommend the hotel's restaurant: the menu is extensive, but at least one meal arrived still mostly frozen in the center, and the others were bland at best. There were some other small inconveniences--the wall mounted shampoo/soap dispenser in the shower was empty, but the hotel did supply the usual small soaps, etc. at the sink. There was a small refrigerator in our sitting room, but it was locked. I am certain that the hotel would have been helpful, but we weren't there long enough for these to be issues.
A better than expected experience for a phenomenally reasonable price. I would stay there again.
