“Elegance personified”

This is a 4-star. On a busy street but neighborhood is quiet. We were entralled by attentiveness of staff, excellence of food. Hotel is near metro. Fantastic is all we can say. You will want to go in town to shop and to try other eateries.

“Nice hotel outside the city centre”

My overall experience at Silken Puerta Valencia was very good. The hotel was opened only a couple of years ago and the rooms are modern and in excellent condition. The hotel offers free wireless internet connection. Be aware that the restaurant within the hotel is extremely pricey - paid 5 Euros for a beer (compared to 2-2.50 Euro in nice restaurants in the city centre...). The hotel is located southeast of the city centre and about a 15-20mins walk from the historic old town. The hotel location is perfect to visit the "city of arts and sciences" and the mestalla stadium. However, the metro stations are quite far away.

“Hard bed!”

This hotel was obviously principally for business customers & was a little impersonal. The service in the restaurant & cafe however, could not be faulted & the food was nicely presented. Large portions in the restaurant too, even if rather expensive. The area surrounding the hotel was rather run-down but felt quite safe. It was obviously the business district. The Oceanografic complex & the old town were both within walking distance. The aquarium was amazing & the old town fascinating. Valencia is well worth a visit.

The area around the aquarium for it's innovative architecture & the Barrio del Carmen for a complete contrast!

“Comfortable & Clean--would stay again”

First the pros: The hotel room was very comfortable, clean and modern. The staff was polite, cheerful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The adjacent restaurant was also pleasant. The cons: location. It was a trek to get to the Aquarium/tourist area, and even the Metro station. The hotel is not within reasonable walking distance to the beach, but the Metro trip to the beach is not long. If you don't mind walking and exploring on the way to your tourist destination, then this hotel is a good choice for value and comfort.

“Very good hotel, excellent restaurant & service”

A good hotel, in a good location - not central, but convienient for sights and metro stations. The hotel restaurant was excellent, a choice of restaurants locally would have been good, however we did visit in March (low season). Nice city, great hotel for a 3/4 day break.

Area recommendations
Old Town area is nice for a wander and the Cathedral is definately worth a visit. Would also recommend a walk along the river bed and down to the museam of arts and sciences

“Hotel at decent location”

This hotel is not so far from the metro station. It's about 10-minute walk. The guest room is quite clean and free internet is fantastic.

“Great location for holiday traveller”

Enjoyed my stay very much. This hotel is comfortable and well presented, as well as reasonably priced for it's class. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for a hotel in the town centre, as this was conveniently located both to the old town, the beach, and the new museums and aquarium. There are plenty of cafe's around and for some reason there is a pharmacy on nearly every corner!

Area recommendations
The Historic Centre is hard to pass up both for touristy photos and outdoor dining in the many Plazas.

“So-so Hotel in Valencia”

This hotel was pretty good; it was clean and the room was a good size and pretty comfortable. Two things that precluded me from rating this hotel as a 5 are: 1) the hotel staff wasn't that knowledgable about cool places to eat and hang out and often couldn't give me the best route to take (i.e. bus, metro) to get to sights; 2) the location isn't as great as I thought it would be based on what I read. It's not in a bad location, but it's not at a great location. I didn't eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food at the hotel.
