Excellent design of hotel with welcoming bar/restaurant that has such a cool vibe. Excellent accomodations, excellent food and very good service from all the staff. Loved our stay! Locatioin is excellent. Very short walk from train statioin yet absolutely no train noise.

Beautiful & well designed room. Nice terrace bar. Staff was very helpful. Our room was on Bahnhofstrasse so a tad noisy ( narrow street that echos noise well ) but it had a peekaboo view of the Matterhorn so it can’t be helped. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Didn’t try the restaurant for dinner. Very conveniently located.

Super convenient luxury hotel, located right next to Bahnhof and Gornegrat funicular. Excellent service. Restaurants at hotel were very good - especially the Kitchen. Cool vibe in a very traditional chalet setting.

It was just perfect vacation. Hotel located 2 minutes of walk from train station. The staff was very kind and breakfast was excellent. Hotel is in the Main Street and lots of good restaurants and shopping. I truly enjoyed staying at this hotel and loved Swiss hospitality Hotel has also one of the best sauna facility.

Great hotel stay!
I recently stayed at the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was traveling in Switzerland for a few weeks and found this hotel to have the most comfortable bed. The staff was friendly. It was warm outside and there is no AC. Ask for a fan, which worked out perfectly. The breakfast buffet was good. Location is outstanding - 5 min walk to train station. The only negative is the outside music played. It was warm so you have to keep your window open. The music plays from 12-6 daily. I did not find this to be relaxing at all. Maybe ask for a street facing view if you want to avoid the music.

The Schweiterhof lobby is a short walk from the train station. The hotel is convenient to the shops and restaurants , and even the Coop store. The train to the ski lifts is a short walk or taxi ride. The reception staff are warm and helpful, making their guests feel at home. The spa is excellent and an enjoyable break. There are excellent restaurants on site, including fondue at the Cheese Factory. Rooms are first class with comfortable bedding and amenities. It’s a great location to stay in Zermatt!

Overall a wonderful experience
Overall, the Schweizerhof is a wonderful hotel and experience. The staff is excellent, my top floor room was very well appointed, and the breakfast is truly superior. Areas that can be improved include the dinner menu and wifi. The dinner menu is not bad by any means, but I would have liked to see some higher end culinary selections to match their excellent wine selection (e.g. Masseto and Chateau Margaux). The open wifi scheme (i.e. no login) that too many hotels are now adopting was particularly frustrating on both phones which would disconnect without reason and sometimes no "sign-in" indicator leading to even more frustration. On a final note, my room was close to the elevator shaft that is somewhat noisy, so I recommend asking for a room away from that end of the hotel. To be clear after some negative comments, this is an Excellent hotel I would recommend to anyone.

Amazing location
Beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Recently updated, both the room and public spaces were modern and extremely clean. Gym is adequate for a hotel stay and the included breakfast is fantastic. Great service all around. Location is 2 minutes from the train station so easy to carry bags. Highly recommended.

Brilliant hotel.
This hotel exceeded expectations with their warm family style welcome. They make you feel at home and the amenities are first class including a horse and carriage ride to and from the train station.

It was "payable on check out" booking and our credit card about to charge the amount upon checkout. But hotel denied check in to customer saying you need to pay first, even not checked payment terms and mode of payment in their reservation system. Guest disappointed and called me and shouted as he has paid well in advance to us. I called twice to Expedia and request to charge amount right now and not wait for check in or checkout date. Also sent mail 2 times to hotel but they didn't charge amount in advance and mishappening done with the very important guest. Very said and upset. 🙁

A lot of money for a shoebox sized room.
I stayed at the Schweizerhof Zermatt one night. The room was hot, noisy, extremely small, and the floor was dirty. The sheets were rough. I had to leave the window open because it was so hot and stuffy, which unfortunately meant I heard street noise - drunk kids yelling most of the night. I was told that I could control the temperature in my room, which was not true. The bathroom was so small, the door would not open all the way. There was nowhere to put my toiletries. I paid a lot of money for a room that felt like a shoebox. On the other hand, the food in the restaurant was excellent. And the hotel was convenient to the train station.

Newly reopened this is a real gem of a hotel. Centrally positioned, small, warm and very welcoming. The open plan reception, lounge and bar is very cozy and the rooms perfect. Hotel has all you need, ski room, spa, pool and so very friendly and helpful staff. We have visited Zermatt many times, this was the best hotel experience and are go to place next visit. Excellent.

Great location!!!
The location was perfect - right in the middle of town, walking distance from train station, the ski slopes/ tram and restaurants/shops/bars. We rented ski equipment from the hotel ski shop - very convenient to drop off and store equipment until the next day. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. We could see the top of the Matterhorn from our room! Exceeded our expectations! Would stay there again!!!

Great hotel in Zermatt
Extremely near to train station, though that also means street noise, which was bearable. The spa and swimming pool were great!! Wifi speed was fast and breakfast was simple but sufficient.

Very nice hotel near to the Train Station
The hotel is located near the train station and very convenient to walk from and around Zermatt. Even though we stayed here for a night, but this hotel and Zermatt made my Switzerland a memorable one. When we arrived at the hotel at noon time, the staff were already expecting us and able to call out our reservation; the room was even ready before the stated checked-in time - this made our trip perfect as we are able to leave our bags in the room, and took the train to Gormergrat in time to view the Matterhorn in good weather. The hotel also provide coffee and tea and desserts at 4.30pm, free of charge for all hotel guests; this is probably our first time we had such a luxury in a hotel. The coffee and desserts were just right as we came back from Gormergrat. The only pity is that we could only stay one night here in Zermatt. If I were to come back to Zermatt, this will definitely be the place to stay.

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was probably the best I've ever had at a hotel. It was convenient to the train station and the central area. The lack of air conditioning was less than ideal, but that wasn't a significant problem. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Very nice hotel!
The staff were excellent. Very eager to help and make you feel at home and taken care of. My room was really nice, comfortable, loved the decor and they left me a lovely Easter gift of cookies and candy! Had one of the best-ever massages in the spa! And the breakfast buffet was first-rate!

In fairness to the hotel, all I was looking for was a relatively (for Switzerland) inexpensive hotel for a three-day ski trip. That's exactly what I got. The staff were friendly but not very visible; the breakfast buffet was average; the room and hotel decor is dated. On the upside, it's very close to the train station and to the Sunegga gondola. If you want location above all, it's a good choice. Otherwise...just know this place is pretty blah.

We had a lovely time in zermatt but staff were blasé about our enjoyment of first time in the Swiss Alps and experiencing snow and cold.
