"Nice hotel close to station with superb breakfast"
The hotel does not have elevator and hence need to carry heavy luggages as we came from Italy. However one of the male staff was very friendly and helped to carry up to my room. It's very nice of him and I appreciate it. Room was clean, cosy and have everything you need esp in the cold environment. Breakfast was good as well :) I m quite happy that I managed to experience two nights in this hotel

The location is great. Only 5 minutes of walking distance to wherever you want to go. We stayed in the family room, which is like a spacious apartment. The room was very clean. The breakfast was also great. Everything fresh!

Five of us stayed at the Hotel Hermitage for 2 nights in July, for a family occasion. We could not have been more enchanted by the hotel’s rustic charm. The beds were comfortable, the bathtubs deep, the pretty antique furnishings made us were feel we were staying in someone’s house, not a hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculate, the lounge was spacious with many big soft sofas, and the garden was large and pleasant, with comfortable lawn furniture. We could have happily spent all day lazing about in the garden or on the hotel’s front porch, both were so pleasant. The views from our balconies were lovely. Breakfast was typically continental – several kinds of fresh bread, cornflakes or muesli, yogurt, fruit, local honey & preserves, hard-boiled eggs, etc. – what’s not to like? My own imperatives – big soft towels, & wi-fi – were both provided. However, the rooms do not have 3-star amenities such as hair-dryer, toiletries, coffee-&-tea makers (nor English-language TV) – but on the other hand, the owners Olivier Gaspoz and family are so helpful and accommodating that they would probably supply you with anything like that which you asked for, as they did us (excepting English TV!) Their generosity and kindness was endearing. The whole hotel is delightful.
It was a pleasant surprise that we found out the hotel was located in the ski town of Nendaz, very close to lift. The hotel is an old building, but has all comforts and necessity. It is very clean and warm. You pay a hotel room in Switzerland for less than in Colorado of similar setting. The free breakfast is very good. The only small issue is the staff can not speak English, and we found their chef speaks English. A very friendly setting and technically no check in and out system. You say hi to get in and you say bye to depart. The drive up to the ski town is a challenging task, but all Switzerland ski towns are up in the clouds.
This is a beautiful, cozy Swiss-fashioned hotel. Very close to, yet far away from the noise of main street shopping and eating. The people who maintain and run this hotel were most accommodating, friendly, and generous with their service. The hotel offers a luggage shuttle service both from the rail station and the return at the end of your stay.
The breakfast is light, with a fine variety to easily fill our appetites. Most of the rooms overlook the Zermatt community and the valley with the Alps as a backdrop. Though we stayed only a few days, it exceeded our hopes for a true
"Swiss experience". When we return to that area, it will be #1 on our call list!! Oct., 2014
