Staying the night here was a night we will never forget. We had a suite which had the most incredible views - it actually stole my breath away. Totally incredible! The meal we had was exceptional. If you are thinking of staying here don’t delay, it was a night I will never forget.

Life changing beauty
This was an amazing experience to stay at the second highest hotel in all of Europe. The Mountain View’s were breathtaking and I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world.

Brilliant hotel and I would highly recommend it!
Hotel location is superior and hospitality is very outstanding. Staff at the reception and the restaurant are super friendly and they make me feel like home during my stay. I was very lucky to join a tour to the observatory and learn some astronomical knowledge from the expert. Staying in the room with Matterhorn view is one of the things to do on my bucket list and I was so pleasant to see the breathtaking landscape from my hotel room. Highly recommended!

The best hotel ever!
A special hotel with rooms numbered by the heights of different mountains. Helpful and nice staff who personally brought us to our room and explained to us everything about the room, including the stone on the wall. Will definitely stay in this hotel again =)

We arrived early, the staff gave us early check-in which we feel very warm & being care. The hotel is very considerate, they asked about our preference of diet before we arrived. The food are yummy. We have very good impression about this hotel.

Amazing stay! Maybe best view I've ever had from a hotel room. Bed was a little too hard for us, but more of a preference thing - mattress appeared high quality. Overall, great memories.

Fantastic receptionist who can provides all the information you need for the entire stay and also the local sun set and sun rise times. Rooms are clean, the views are beyond this world, very nice food etc. At 3100m attitude you'd expect some services to be not perfect but at this hotel everything is working and perfect. Would definitely recommend to stay if you want to experience something totally special.

Property is very unique with great views (get the Matterhorn view if you can). Staff all around was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were included in the rate which was also nice. Stay here to get the best views and to get away from the crowds (you pretty much have the mountain to yourself at night).

A must when you’re visiting Zermatt! Views, comfort and hospitality. We loved staying at the Kulmhotel Gornergrat, our room was very clean and had an incredible view of the matterhorn. I had problems with the elevation when I got there because I live in California, but with rest, extra hydration and headache medicine, I felt better. The staff at the Kulmhotel Gornergrat are warm and amazing. The dinner and breakfast included was nice.

A must have experience!
This was a must have experience. As mentioned in many reviews, the hotel is located high on the mountain at the end of a 37 minute train ride and 47 minute return. The hotel was quaint and clean. The food, which was included was delicious and they were pretty flexible on accommodating a vegetarian diet. We happened to stay here in the middle of a snow storm, which was exciting. However, it obviously limited the views, which one should be aware of when staying at this high altitude in the middle of Winter. It’s also obviously difficult to sleep, but the adventure is worth having. We stayed one night and that felt like the right amount of time to stay, unless you want to ski or just hang in the room. Pretty limited options and time consuming along with expensive to keep going back and forth to Zermatt, if you stay longer than one or two nights. We would definitely return and got exactly the experience we expected and wanted.

As close to heaven as a hotel can get
This was one of the most exhilarating hotel stays we've experienced. The views of the Matterhorn and glaciers were heavenly, the room was large and pristine, and the breakfast and dinner delicious with local ingredients. The staff were all so friendly and professional. We hope to come back in the Spring to hike. The only thing that could have been a bit more seamless was our check-in--the cog railway to the hotel was not running the night we arrived for technical reasons but we only found out when we got to the station. As the railway is the only way to get to the hotel, it would have been great if the hotel called us ahead of time to let us know. But the staff made arrangements for us to stay in Zermatt as soon as we called, so all was good. Thank you!

Exceptional location & view
Only hotel up at Gornergrat, limited rooms but that’s what makes it exclusive. Exceptional view surrounding the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable with dinner and breakfast included. This hotel is a must try (a night) if you are visiting Zermatt! Wonderful experience!

Quite simply amazing!
The best way of describing this hotel is to say it is amazing. I booked a stay for a single night and instantly regretted it, wishing i had booked several days instead. The views are breathtaking, the hotel rooms are excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the included half board food is of very good quality. I cant recommend it enough, and plan to be back very soon.

Incredible views and excellent customer service
The rooms facing the Matterhorn are worth the extra fee and would recommend it! The staff are exceptional-from the moment we walked into the hotel to the very last minute when we left. I felt unwell during our stay likely from the intensity of the sun -always wear a hat and sunglasses and use lots of SPF 50! The food included with the room was lovely,dinner was a nice four course meal. We barely slept to make the most of the views-if the sky is clear make sure you watch the sunrise and sunset and the amount of stars visible at night is fantastic. Would love to stay there again

Top of the Matterhorn View Directly from Your Room
Had a fantastic time at this very unique hotel located above the city of Zermatt on the Mountain Gornergrat. We requested a room with a view of the Matterhorn and we were extremely pleased with our room and view. The price of the hotel included dinner and breakfast (at least in our case). Not sure if this is the norm, but a nice surprise. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. When you consider the very unique experience of waking up or falling asleep with the Matterhorn from your room at eye level, it is an experience not to be missed.

An amazing view and experience
The view of the Matterhorn made this an amazing overnight experience. The windows in the Matterhorn suite were not as large as the regular rooms but we loved the Matterhorn suite and the deck at the hotel. The food and service at the hotel were very good.

Amazing location and great base for skiing
We went for a family pre-Christmas skiing holiday. Fantastic to start the day going downhill and end to the day (mainly) with great sunsets over the Matterhorn. Very friendly staff and a good variety and quality of meals. Comfortable and well appointed room. All in all a great start to Christmas.

Extraordinary location
Just a wonderful experience. Everything we needed was right there and it was away from the bustle of Zermatt. A place to wander in wonder. We did not feel pressed to do anything - we were accommodated.

Highly recommended
This hotel is located at the top of the mountain and right next to the train station. U can see matterhorn from the hotel. The experience is very amazing to live in a hotel like this. The only thing I would complain is the food is not very good.
