Traveling with two young kids, 7 and 3. We love the place. Room was clean and great. View over the hills and San Gimignano was great. Swimming pool was a plus for the boys.
It's very close to San Gimignano by car.
Central location in town - car park is a bit of a walk - ask about whether you can drive in to drop bags (we didn't and probably should have).
We had a 4 person room - double and 2 singles - one big room - big windows overlooking square.
Air Con was OK. There was a small refrigerator - we didn't use it - didn't seem like it was working, but we didn't ask.
Breakfast (included) was terrific -- held in one half of their beautiful, sunny airy terrace - one of the biggest breakfast spreads we saw in 2 weeks in Italy.
Restaurant is terrific for dinner -- the food was great and the views outstanding as well.
We were going to make San Gimi a day trip - decided instead to pull in in the evening, checked in, had dinner, wandered the town at night, had the World Cup winning gelato on the square, and saw the town again the next morning -- all without the droves of tourists who day-trip in their tour buses. Hit Florence early the next day -- really glad about this choice.

The River Elsa cuts northwards from its source in the hills west of Siena before joining the Arno. Colle di Val d’Elsa is the main centre along its Sienese upper reaches, noted for its glass industry. Some 95 percent of Italy’s lead crystal hails from here, and the lower town is crammed with shops selling its wares. The upper town is set along a winding ridge, and full of historic interest. Several museums showcase Etruscan and Sienese art.
