By local standards maybe this boutique hotel is a bit over-priced but by metropolitan city (Paris, N.Y., San Francisco, London, etc..) standards this is an extremely good value. Uzes is one of the best kept secrets in Southern France and la Maison d'Uzes is a pearl in Uzes. It took over 4 years to restore the building that the hotel is housed in. The results are understated and grand at the same time. The hotel has about 12 rooms, a spa, and a restaurant.
We have owned a vacation home near Uzes for over 25 years and we know the town extremely well. At la Maison Uzes you get the full Laguedoc/Provancal experience, with the restored building it self, the food and wine, the Provencal friendliness, the pedestrian explorations of Uzes, and a spa treatment if you wish. The service is excellent and completely personalized without being contrived. I'm not sure if it would be the same during high season but in February when most other places are close this was certainly the case!
Although we own a vacation home less than 20 minutes from Uzes my wife and I plan to spend a week-end at la Maison Uzes as a treat away from home but not away from the familiar delights of Uzes.
If you are used to the prices of nice boutique hotels in the large metropolitan cities I would recommend their suites as the rooms are not that large. If you are looking for a great value ($$$) by local standards this hotel is not for you.
We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It has a professional but personal/family feel to it. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The rooms are spacious and very comfy and the beds are huge! The breakfast is fresh and delicious. The poolside area and public areas are relaxing. All in all one of the best hotels in the world I have stayed in.

A short distance from the Pont du Gard, the old walls of this former XVIIth century Post house shelter peace of mind and …More
What a hidden gem this lovely hotel is. It is like staying with friends. We were welcomed by Guy who showed us around and then introduced to Gautier and Claire. The whole ambience of the hotel is one of peace and tranquility from the gorgeous colours and fabrics used in the bedrooms to the wild garden and boules area. They care and want you to enjoy your stay - what a refreshing change that is !
We booked in the village of Collias to avoid the busy hotels of tourists near Pont du Gard, Uzes, etc. We were met by the daughter (grand-daughter) of the owners if the old house which has been renovated into this most beautiful, peaceful place. She told us the story of the maison, the work it took to renovate, the women whom the rooms are named after, including her grandmother and great grandmother. The rooms are exquisite! The pool area is lovely and the area under the trees where breakfast is served in the courtyard was very special. The restaurant in the village just 5 min. Away was recommended and excellent !!
Uzes charms visitors with its 17th-century Capuchin chapel (built on the site of a temple dedicated to Emperor Augustus), and the Château du Duché. 14 kilometers away, the striking Pont du Gard bridge (a UNESCO World Heritage site) stretches over the Gard River. Built in Roman times, the aqueduct gained popularity as a tourist site in the 18th century and remains a popular attraction today.
