“Good service, very clean, but very old”

Service is very good and gentle. It has free parking for costumers and you can use it even after the check out. It seems that the hotel was very modern when was built, but any improvement has been made since then, so, room services are old, like a 70's hotel. Breakfast is very good, complete and fresh and it's very centrally situated.

“It's a nice hotel”

The only thing that wasn't nice was that I requested a late check out and the clerk forgot to inform about the additional fee for that.

“Great location, short ride from Tres Cruces, adn you can walk all over downtown and old town.”

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lafayette. The breakfast was terrific, and I liked the noon check-out time. The location was great, and the area seemed safe and pleasant.

Area recommendations
I would recommend downtown, near old town for the best walking.

“Convenient and reasonable”

The hotel in within walking distance of downtown and la rambla. It also has free parking and the rooms are quite reasonable for comfort and space. The value for money was quite reasonable too. The breakfast buffet was good. The furnishings were a little tired, and the wireless internet was poor, but otherwise it was a pleasant stay. I would certainly consider staying again if visiting Montevideo.

Area recommendations
The best things to see in Montevideo are the old city and the port market. There are lots of artesan stalls around, but I think only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

“Nice place, excellent breakfast.”

We liked our room, the bathroom was clean and it was quiet in the evening. We only stayed overnight, but the breakfast was the best we had in our entire trip.

“Good hotel for price and location”

This hotel was well located and the price was very reasonable. Our room was not ready at check in (we were very early), but they stored our bags and provided advice on where to visit in the city. Staff were very friendly. It is an older hotel and is showing it's age. The restaurant / bar was very small so we could not get in at dinner time. Included breakfast was good.

“Nice Hotel”

the location is good, but is prefferable to stay in positos neigbourhood if you travel for leisure.

“Look for some other hotel”

I am not going back to this hotel, ever. You can get something better for the same price in Montevideo. First of all, the room was very small, the furniture was not very new, and especially, the staff was not helpful at all - the guy in the reception refused to call a taxi to me!
