Hotel is in a good, centrally located area. Easy to access from the train station if you’re okay walking up a steep gravel walkway to the main road! Staff was very accommodating and friendly, went above and beyond to help us out. Breakfast was good and rooms were spacious. Would definitely recommend

This is an older building, that has not been renovated since the 70's. This means, that there are no room safes, refrigerators, or even working wifi. In addition, the building exterior is not physically maintained against the elements, as our balcony was filled with rotted wood, and rusty nails. This building would have been condemned in the US. To make matters even worse, the current manager is so angry and aggressive, we tried to avoid him at all cost. In talking with staff members, we learned that the hotel will shut down in November, 2023, be completely refurbished, and sold as private units. There are plenty of other well maintained hotels in the area. Use them instead!!!

Friendly people, dated property
People throughout the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Parking behind the house is tight, crammed, and adventurous. The location is very nice, with plenty of shops, restaurants etc. in walking distance. The included breakfast was wonderful, with friendly service, plenty of coffee, excellent fresh bread, and good variety. My room was fairly dated and needed fixes and upgrades. Upon entering, it was a bit smelly (maybe smoking used to be allowed there at some point in the distant past?), the door would only close when locked, and one of the closet doors wouldn't close at all. The mattress badly needs to be replaced - it was so soft and worn out that I almost felt like sleeping in a hammock. (upon checkout, no one asked me how I liked my stay, otherwise I would have given them this feedback directly.)

Very dated hotel. If you like the smell of Chinese food coming in from the restaurant 2 building s down all nite long. Breakfast area very beautiful decorated and plentiful food.

Hotel is in an excellent location in the center of town. The hotel is very old and is starting to show its age. On arrival we were told there was normally a 5euro charge per day for parking but we would not have to pay this. On checkout we found that this was not the case and it did have to be paid. Very limited parking at the hotel although apparently they have a deal with the local parking garage. Breakfast was ok but very slow to replenish items that had run out. Not bad but I could not say that I would return.

Very walkable to the town shopping/dining area. Although on the main street, it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was very good. The hotel desk clerk went out of his way to meet our needs and provide us with information. Great choice for a hotel.

We stayed in 4 different locations during our European trip. This was our favorite. The hotel location was fabulous, the gentlemen at the front desk was very helpful, and the breakfast was actually surprisingly great. The hotel is dated a touch, but everything was well kept and clean. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Nice old hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Hotel room was spacious for 3 girls traveling together. Bed was nice but the sofa bed needs to be replaced. Overall I’d stay there again!

Excellent hotel, much easier to stay here and walk or take a short, reasonable cab to the pedestrian area. Delicious food, lovely staff. Would definitely recommend.

A wonderful, classic, German-style hotel in the heart of town, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and outdoor activities. The hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating. The rooms are a bit outdated, but it just adds to the charm of this beautiful little hotel. I would definitely stay there again on future visits.

My stay was great. The hotel was in a perfect location. Walking distance to shops, banks, restaurants, cafes and the centre. The balcony view was amazing and the hotel staff were friendly.

Overpriced and underwhelming.
Tiny car park so we were unable to find a space, the car park over the road was full too so we used an underground one. We were told that we would get a discount as hotel guests but couldn't find an attendant to ask. The hotels.com website states the rooms have blackout curtains but ours had thin white ones,as a result we were woken up early each morning by the sun streaming in and noise from the road below. Breakfast was appalling, scabby apples, little choice, a grotty looking toaster and scrambled eggs which had run out on the second morning. I have no idea what they spend the large amount of money they charge on!

Charming hotel close to the Eagle´s Nest.
I recommend vividly the Hotel Garni Wittelsbach, a very traditional and comfortable hotel, close to the world famous Eagle´s Nest in Berchtesgaden. The hotel has a charm that is hard to find nowadays, and is situated close to the most famous and historic places in town.

Beautiful old hotel you can tell it used to belong to royalty. Very well kept up. Service was very bad. Felt like we might have been only guest so no one was on the desk most of the time and breakfast was just for us so very skimpy and not ready when promised.

Hotel was in a great location, staff were friendly but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast is what you would expect for a European breakfast; meats, cheeses, breads, cereal and yogurt. Nothing fancy but was good.
