Stayed in a small basic double economy room and it was plenty big enough for 2 people. Ensuite was very small but as this was only for 1 night it was fine. Very quiet location, ideal for Chester university and the city center.

Location, location, location is the key. Right in the heart of Chester with easy access to the Cathedral, the Castle, the race track and the town hall. The continental breakfast included in the tariff was excellent. Overall a great experience.
great hotel with lots of character right next to rail staton but with absolutely no noise from trains.
Good area within easy walking distance of central town but away from the hoards of tourists
Lovely town to visit with plenty to do. Chester and the Westminster Hotel get my vote.
"Lovely weekend break - character well located Inn"
Very friendly, helpful staff. Great food which is also reasonably priced. Chose the premium room - room 4, spacious, 2 big windows - would definitely stay here again - ideal city break close to racecourse, River and city centre. Lovely decor.
Have we found the best guest house in Britain ? The staff were amazing. Terry did our laundry! Excellent choices for the large breakfast. Roberta, the breakfast 'girl', was a cheerful face in the morning. The guest house is virtually in the town centre.

Lovely hotel with a very quirky style and luxurious feel. The décor had an opulent feel and the room we stayed in was very stylish and certainly did not have that boring "conference centre" type décor so many big chains have. Nice aromatherapy toiletries and soaps provided and fluffy towelling dressing gown and slippers provided (in just a standard room).
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful even though we turned up at the end (breakfast runs to a very civilised 11am!!). Live music at breakfast was a nice touch (sounds weird but was actually very nice, a lady singing very chilled out songs to her guitar).
All in all, loved the hotel, and would return. Only downside is the parking at £15 a night although there are cheaper alternatives very close by.
