"Nice hotel in a good central location."
We enjoyed our stay here. Cute, boutique hotel that had everything we needed. Not the nicest hotel, but clean and comfortable for the price. Close to bart, muni, and Union Square. We would stay here again.

"Historic and hip!"
My daughter and I loved this hotel! Perfect location-walked everywhere from our SF "home". Our suite had two large windows set in the original brick wall. Couch, coffee table, huge TV, Comfy bed with ceiling fan above and bathroom with vessel sink and huge shower. Impeccably clean!! Wonderful, welcoming staff! Would stay again!!!

"Great Downtown Location!"
We had an excellent experience! Arrived 11:00 am with intentions of leaving our bags. Gave us option of checking into a room on 6th floor or wait for room on higher floor with a view. We waited and got a fabulous room! Walked to a late dinner right by Union Square and felt safe- just stay away from streets on back side of hotel. Like any big city, rough neighborhood is close to back side of hotel. Bar & appetizers great. Only complaint is no electrical outlet in bathroom! Had to sit at desk to do my hair. We will go back!

The only irritating aspect was the long walk from the elevators to our rooms. Other than that, we have no complaints.

"Easy walk to convention center"
The hotel is clean but aging. My travel was for business, the American Library Association annual conference. I choose the hotel because it was across the street from one of the official conference hotels so I would have easy access to the conference shuttle. The desk staff were all very helpful and friendly, the hotel is older and shows it in the VERY small elevator, a little shabby chic and like all older hotels there are very few outlets. There is a light shaft the hotel is built around so you do have some natural light but absolutely no view unless you want to see the mechanical equipment at the bottom of the light shaft. WIFI is decent. The in-room fridge is small and there is no light switch in the closet. The desk is actually the credenza the TV sits on so yes, you can use it but it's not a comfortable height. I was in a deluxe room and it was tiny. BUT, the room was clean, the bedding in good shape, everything worked. I carry a power strip with me when I travel so the lack out outlets wasn't a problem for me. The hotel is on the same street as GLIDE a church with a serious urban outreach mission so they do feed the hungry. The church celebrates all forms of diversity so if you have a problem with LGBTQ or mixed race peoples then don't stay over a Sunday. If you do, attend a service and celebrate.
