Me and my wife spent the night at the Kempinski hotel and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was great and very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Our room was great and very clean and had a fantastic view of the Adriatic.
Reception staff were very helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Restaurant service was a little bit like a college refectory, mainly self service and queuing at busy times. The food was "honest" but not inspirational. Nice bar and terrace. A great beach location. The facilities looked great but as I was on a business trip I didn't get time to test out the beach or pool! I would stay here again as overall ity offers excellent value for money.
It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful part of Croatia. the junior suite we had had 2 rooms which made holidaying with young children easier. I would suggest rubber type beach shoes as the beaches are nearly all rocky as are the shallow waters. the pool got a bit crowded at times but not usually for long. overall we had a lovely holiday and would seriously consider returning to the same place.
Hotel was nothing special, well traveled and busy. The bed was great, really comfortable and the pillows and blankets were the best you could ask for. Me, my wife, and 2.5 year old daughter had no problem having a good nights sleep. The pool was great, not so busy and everyone having a good time. We were staying during the winter so we could only use the indoor pool. The outdoor pools looked great and im sure in the summer they are a popular place to be. The breakfast was excellent and couldnt ask for more. They even had soya milk and rice milk. Not something you see all the time. As far as other meals we dined in Umag and have to say there are some great deals on really amazing food in the city center. Drinks in the lobby bar were also cheap in price. A 0.5 liter beer will put you back about 20 KN or around 4$ all desserts were priced at 17KN or around 3.5$ which isnt bad for a hotel. Its only a small walk to the beach which sits dirrectly across the street from the building (less than 5 minutes). I wanted to talk about others that had complained. I got MORE than I paid for and really enjoyed it. I dont think you can get any better than this at this price. You wont find Champane at breakfast and if thats what you want then you need to dig just a bit deeper into your pockets and go to a more expensive more luxurious hotel. I almost forgot they have an arcade on the level floor with a few pinball machines and about 6 arcade games. It was expensive but a treat to say the least
Staff were only too happy to help. A good selection of facilities, although a couple were closed at the time of our stay. Good choice of food, which was of excellent quality. Large room, cleaned on a daily basis. Only a short walk to a rocky beach. Road train provides a good link to Umag town centre. Excellent hotel for families.
We stayed in the apartment just for 1 night, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The apartments are renovated, very cosy, close to the beach, dining area is very nice, breakfast is rich, for all tastes. I would highly recommend staying here after high season (end of August), since it's more peaceful, you can enjoy the beach and privacy. I can't imagine staying here in July or August, since you can hear everything what's going on in your neighbours rooms, and the houskeeping staff is also very loud and early. But in general I don't like crouds, so don't take my review for granted :)
Close to the Slovenian border on Istria’s west coast, Umag centres around a medieval old town built on a small peninsular. Large modern hotels, including good sports facilities and two wellness centres, line the coast. Although there is no beach, concrete bathing areas offer access to the water. Each July, Umag hosts the Croatia Open international tennis tournament, and there is also a large yachting marina.
