My wife and I, we drove from Bangalore and arrived at the Ocean Pearl around 8pm. The check-in was smooth. The lady at the reception ungraded us to Premium, which was very nice. The stay was excellent. The ambience in the room and the hygiene level were comparable to the best in the world. The vegetarian restaurant was par excellence - good cuisine and quick service. The coffee shop too was good and offered good service.
"Heart of the city, well connected, exclnt facilits"
Excellent stay. Good restaurants in it meant we didnt have to waste time looking around for food options. After hard day out one could freshen up and eat well. Go for non veg if you like or the veg isnt bad too. The staff were cordial. Being in the city's heart it was easy to go around.
It was diwali time so the hotel staff had done wonderful rangoli decorations in the lobby. Would like to add a personal note, being diwali and as every hindu home or office perform the traditional laxmi puja, it would have been nice if the guests were greeted traditionally/sweets placed in the room/guests invited for the laxmi puja. If they had, at least we were not a party to it.
I dont know about the other hotels around but since i have travelled widely and stayed in various hotels of repute and otherwise across, this is a good hotel to stay and enjoy the cuisine if in Mangalore. If you are flying in/out, since there are not much options, it is better to plan your itinerary in such a way that you need not wait endlessly at the hotel for your flight or you may either have to spend unnecessarily on room rent for extended period or check in/out in a way that you need not beg for extending check out with the hotel where you may stay. It is embarrassing to you and them. You are concerned about the expense and they have their limitations.

A one of its kind boutique hotel in Mangalore/ Goldfinch is a fine example of exemplary architecture and decor. This …More
Prestige Hotel is on start of a side road, near Collector gate. So it is quiet and yet central . Remodelling going on in the foyer and next apparently will be the 4th floor. But there is no disruption. The staff is helpful . There are 2 restaurants in the hotel . It is a pity they do not do much of local Mangalore cuisine , or stock up more in fish. The breakfast is complimentary and there is a choice of 2 items ans beverage. It is substantial and good .Auto is available close by at any time and so travelling is not a problem. The linen is very clean and is changed daily. Toiletries are of good quality
